Kevin Kelly Suing AEW, Claims Tony Khan Made Himself The Face Of The Company

Kevin Kelly isn't happy with how matters panned out in AEW and is apparently looking for legal action.

Kelly was the special guest to Eric Bischoff's "83 Weeks: Wise Choices" and opened up about his situation with the company, particularly the tension he had with fellow commentator Ian Riccaboni. Kelly said that Riccaboni labeled him as an extreme right-wing conspiracy theorist to which Kelly claimed to be just an advocate against child-trafficking.

“That really pissed me off. I thought we were friends."

The former WWE announcer says that AEW PR told him that they handled the matter, but couldn't inform him of how Riccaboni was being disciplined because it was a private matter.

“I get that but I was the victim! I didn’t want him to be fired. I just wanted an apology and know if this perception has hurt me in the company.”

Kelly also told Bischoff he went to a psychiatrist provided by AEW stemming from all the conflict, but was still frustrated and happened to express those frustrations online. That's what got him fired from the company. Due to the way he was fired, Kelly plans on suing the company

When asked about what it was like working with Tony Khan, Kelly said the AEW President doesn't tend to think big picture.

"He wants to appeal to a niche audience with his vision of wrestling. He thinks he can convince people to watch that on a grand scale. The other thing he has done is he has made himself the face of the company"

Kelly also noted that Khan has a lot of great people around him, but doesn't heed their input.

“There is a lot of people backstage who aren’t being used, who want to be used that have creative ideas but they aren’t getting through. There would be a Conga line outside Khan’s office waiting to get in to see him."
