Hulk Hogan’s 1982 Wrestling Card Sells for Record $132,000
A historic moment in sports memorabilia occurred this weekend as Hulk Hogan’s 1982 Wrestling All-Stars Series A card sold for an unprecedented $132,000 at Heritage Auctions.
This sale established a new record for the most valuable wrestling card ever sold, surpassing the previous record held by The Rock’s 2022 Black Prizm 1/1 card which sold for $126,000. The record-breaking card is graded PSA 9 Mint and is one of only 17 such examples, with no PSA 10 grades in existence.
This particular card comes from the Wrestling All-Stars 1982 series A and B sets, which are considered the first standard American wrestling card set ever produced. The sets were originally available only through mail order via “Wrestling News” magazine, with an estimated maximum production of 2,000 sets.
The sale represents a significant increase in value, considering that the last PSA 9 Hogan card sold for just $4,050 on eBay in April 2020.
Experts in the field have drawn parallels between this card’s significance and other legendary sports cards, with David Peck, a prominent wrestling card collector, comparing it to “the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle of wrestling cards.”
