Matt Riddle To Goldberg: I’d Whoop Your Ass, You Know It And Your Family Knows It
Matt Riddle has continued his long-time feud with Goldberg in a recent interview.
The former United States Champion had some backstage issues with Goldberg during his time in the WWE. He previously criticized the WCW legend as “the worst wrestler in the business“, one of many comments that got back to Goldberg.
This led to a tense meeting backstage. Goldberg got angry at Matt Riddle’s insistence on calling him “bro” and the pair teased fighting for real during a frosty encounter.
Speaking with Going Ringside, Matt Riddle cut an impromptu promo on his long-time rival. He congratulated Goldberg for having more money and a bigger house than him. However, he made it clear that if they fought for real, Riddle would whoop Goldberg’s ass “11 times out of 10”.
“William—Willie G, as I like to call him—Willie G, I hope everything’s good.” Matt Riddle said, referring to Goldberg. “You’re in your mansion, your mansion in Texas. Your bank account is definitely way bigger than mine, especially now since I’ve been fired.”
“But let’s be real, bro. At the end of the day, I whooped that ass 10 times out of 10—maybe even 11 times out of 10. You know it. Your kids know it. Your family knows it. The universe knows it,” Riddle added.
Given his experience in MMA and his time in the UFC, it’s hard not to believe Matt Riddle when he made that claim.
Speaking with Shakiel Mahjouri for SHAK Wrestling, Matt Riddle was asked to comment on the end of his time in NJPW.
“New Japan was great. Honestly, I was supposed to go there and do a tour when I first started working with them, but I had a scheduling conflict,” Riddle said. “I had a match with RVD actually that I had scheduled. Me being me, there was no way I could miss a match with RVD. So I told New Japan I could come in the first week of the tour, but then I’d have to leave to leave the second weekend, I’d be back before the weekend was over.
“They said that wasn’t gonna work, and I was like, okay. And then I worked for them in Chicago, I dropped the Zack Sabre Jr. Then they wanted me to wrestle again, I think they had one in San Jose, in California. When they did the next one for California, I had a booking with MLW, and like I said, MLW kind of comes first. They’ve been taking care of me, I’ve worked for them in the past. Ever since I was like, ‘Hey, I have a booking that day with MLW,’ they have not reached out since. But I don’t think it’s anything personal.”
