Interview with former WWE employee Brian Solomon
Hey everybody I just wanted to share some of my interview I did with Brian Solomon. Brian worked for WWE in the publication department from 2002-2007. He worked on the magazines as well as the website. Brian has interviewed several of the WWE names including Vince himself. Brian stated that Vince is very nostalgic when it comes to the older wrestlers such as Antonino Rocca, Buddy Rogers. Vince actually told him in a board room meeting and I quote, "Take your head out of Meltzer's ass". Brian also is very knowledgable when it comes to the early women wrestler's such as Mildred Burke. Brian told me that in a meeting when they were putting a book together called, The Legends, Jim Ross gave Vince some names and Vince flipped out on him and did not use any of his suggestions. One of the things I found fascinating was when he was at the Brian Pillman memorial show in 2001, Ricky Steamboat was referring and Brian held onto Steamboat's rolex while he refed the matches. He also said that WWE is a corporate atmosphere mixed in the wrestling. He told me that no matter what Vince always had the last word. Brian is an author as well and wrote the autobiography for the Original Sheik and has a book coming out shortly on Gorilla Monsoon. The Sheik book is excellent and worth the read. It's called Blood and Fire.
