AEW Dynamite

This week, after “Speedball” Mike Bailey’s battle last week with Jon Moxley, JetSpeed’s Kevin Knight steps up to fight the former AEW World Champion. Stokely collides with “Rated R Superstar” Cope. Plus, “Hangman” Adam Page and MJF meet face-to-face.

– Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone greet audiences at home as MJF makes his way to the ring. "Hangman" Adam Page follows.

MJF says Page and himself are the two day one homegrown AEW stars, with Page being the main character and himself being the protagonist. He says he's known Page for a long time, and he knows that he's most vulnerable when he's angry. He informs Page that he plans on making Page angry to the point where he loses the AEW World Championship in his first defense and says he'll break him.

Page gets in MJF's face and makes it clear that he won't break him. He says he's told MJF since the beginning that he has to earn a title shot or cash in his Casino Contract for a title shot. He says if MJF isn't in the ring to do either of those things, then he should get out of the ring.

MJF says good and bad is a matter of perspective, then says he's not the problem because Page is. He tells Page that he's not as powerful and good as he thinks that he is, then says he'll show the world that he's nothing more than a fraud. He says he has no problem being called the devil because he'd rather that than be a phony idol like Page. He says unlike Page, he's actually real and he'll pull the wool off the sheep's clothing.

Page says he won't make excuses for his past mistakes and will own up to them, then says he talks about Forbidden Door as if it's a match. He says MJF has a contract rather than a match against him, and he won't take a shot because he's afraid. He dares MJF to sign his contract. MJF officially challenges Page to an AEW World Championship at Forbidden door out of frustration, but realizes what he's done.

– The Death Riders then make their way to the ring. JetSpeed follows.

Jon Moxley (w/ Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta) vs. Kevin Knight (w/ Speedball Mike Bailey)

The bell rings and Knight lands a boot on Moxley's chest. He fires off forearms and stomps on him, but Moxley continues beating down Knight on the outside and sends him crashing into the commentary desk face first. Knight sends Moxley crashing into the ring post face first, then rains down right hands on him on the entrance ramp.

Back from the break, Moxley has a submission cinched in on Knight. Knight gets his foot on the bottom rope to break the hold, but Moxley delivers a boot to the side of his face and fires off forearms on Knight. Knight returns the favor, but Moxley bites Knight's arm. Knight responds by biting Moxley's arm, then follows it up with a bodyslam and a splash to him. He goes for a pin, but Moxley kicks out.

Moxley rakes Knight's spine as the pair teeter on the ropes, but Knight lands a superkick on Moxley. He follows it up with a sit-out powerbomb and a splash over the top rope, then levels Yuta with a superkick and hits a DDT on Moxley. Knight ascends to the top rope and connects with the UFO Splash, but Moxley gets his knees up and locks in a Sleeper. Knight taps out.

Winner: Jon Moxley

– After the match, Moxley keeps the hold cinched in. Speedball checks on Knight, but Yuta beats down both him and Knight. Darby Allin's music hits and he makes his way to the ring with a body bag in hand. He hits Yuta with his skateboard and uses it to land a stomp on Yuta's spine, then stuffs Yuta in the body bag once again and zips it up.

Claudio Castagnoli appears and beats down Allin in the corner, then gets Yuta out of the body bag and puts Allin in the body bag. He zips it up, then connects with an Airplane Spin on Allin as he's still in the body bag. Yuta grabs a chair and unzips Allin from the body bag, then places the chair around his neck. Will Ospreay pulls Castagnoli out of the ring and sends him crashing over the barricade near the timekeeper's area, then levels Yuta with a back elbow and grabs a microphone. He says The Death Riders tried snapping his neck, but he's doing the same. He challenges Moxley to get his friends as he'll get his, then tells Moxley to meet him in London for a Lights Out Steel Cage Match.

– Mercedes Mone and Triangle of Madness then make their way to the ring. Willow Nightingale, Queen Aminata, and Alex Windsor follow, and Toni Storm and Athena are both spotted in the crowd.

Mercedes Mone, Skye Blue, and Thekla (w/ Julia Hart) vs. Willow Nightingale, Queen Aminata, and Alex Windsor

Windsor and Blue begin the action. The bell rings and the two go back and forth, but Windsor levels Blue with a shoulder tackle and tags in Nightingale. Nightingale fires off clotheslines on Blue in the corner before Aminata and Mone tag in.

Aminata continues wearing down Mone, then tags in Windsor. Windsor lands a body slam on Mone, but Hart distracts Windsor and Mone connects with a Codebreaker on her.

Back from the break, Nightingale delivers a Hip Attack to Thekla in the corner. Thekla rocks Nightingale with a kick to her head before everyone begins brawling with one another. Nightingale then delivers a cannonball to Mone, Thekla, and Blue who are stacked up on top of one another in the corner.

Aminata tags in and sends Thekla crashing into the mat with a Sidewalk Slam, but Mone tags in and rocks Aminata with a forearm. Windsor delivers a Russian Leg Sweep to Windsor and delivers a clothesline to her.

Blue tags back in and Windsor rolls her up, but Blue kicks out. Windsor cinches in a Sharpshooter on Blue, and Blue taps out.

Winners: Willow Nightingale, Queen Aminata, and Alex Windsor

– After the match, Storm and Athena begin brawling with one another in the apron as Mone and Triangle Of Madness beat down Nightingale, Aminata, and Windsor. Triangle Of Madness brawl with Aminata and Nightingale to the back as Mone beats down Windsor in the middle of the ring and Athena beats Storm down the entrance ramp. Storm and Windsor gain the upper hand over Athena and Mone respectively before Storm grabs a microphone and challenges Mone and Athena to a tag team match on behalf of herself and Windsor next Wednesday.

– Adam Copeland then makes his way to the ring. Stokely Hathaway follows, being dragged out to the ring by security guards.

Adam Copeland vs. Stokely Hathaway (w/ FTR)

The bell rings and Hathaway charges at Copeland. Copeland easily ducks out of the way, then levels Hathaway. Hathaway looks to get out of the match by fist bumping Copeland, but Copeland levels him with an open palm strike and mocks Hathaway along with some fans in the crowd. Copeland then connects with a spear, but FTR appears on the entrance ramp being sure to keep their distance from Copeland per their restraining order. Copeland then lands a second spear on Hathaway and asks FTR if they're just going to leave Hathaway in the ring at all. He tells Hathaway that FTR don't care about him.

Dax Harwood attacks Copeland, but Copeland takes him and Cash Wheeler out throwing out the restraining order in the process. He clotheslines Wheeler and Harwood out of the ring, but Hathaway throws powder in Copeland's eyes to cause the disqualification.

Winner: Adam Copeland (via disqualification)

– Wheeler and Harwood look to continue beating down Copeland after the match, but Christian Cage runs down to the ring with Spike the 2x4 piece of wood in hand. Nick Wayne looks to sneak up behind Cage with a chair in hand, but Cage knocks the chair out of it with Spike. Kip Sabian tries sneaking up behind Cage, but Copeland lands a spear on him. Cage and Copeland bump into one another with Spike and the chair in hand respectively, then stare one another down. Cage hands Spike to Copeland and looks to leave the ring, but Copeland stops him and hugs him.

– The Young Bucks and The Don Callis Family then make their way to the ring. Brody King, Tomohiro Ishii, Hologram, and their mystery tag team partner, Hiromu Takahashi, follow.

All Star Eight Man Tag Team Match: Hiromu Takahashi, Hologram, Brody King & Tomohiro Ishii vs. Kyle Fletcher, Josh Alexander & The Young Bucks

Takahashi and Kyle Fletcher begin the action. The bell rings and Takahashi lands a dropkick on Fletcher. Everyone begins brawling with one another, and The Bucks land a double superkick on Justin Roberts on the outside, but Hologram flies over the top rope to level The Bucks, Josh Alexander, and Fletcher on the outside.

Back from the break, King lands a splash on Alexander and stacks him on top of Fletcher in the corner. He lands a splash on both men and delivers a cannonball to Fletcher, then delivers a crossbody to take out The Young Bucks. Ishii tags in and teeters on the ring apron with Fletcher. Fletcher gets Ishii up, but Takahashi comes to Ishii's aid and levels Fletcher with a crossbody off the apron.

Ishii levels Fletcher with a clothesline back in the ring and goes for a pin, but Fletcher kicks out. Hologram tags in and looks to land a 450 Splash on Fletcher, but Fletcher gets his knees up before The Bucks begin to superkick everyone in sight and Alexander lands a slam on Takahashi on the ring apron.

Back from another break, Takahashi tags in and sends Nick Jackson crashing into Fletcher. Everyone begins brawling with one another once again, but Takahashi rocks Alexander with a superkick and sends him crashing into the mat with a Death Valley Driver for the win.

Winners: Brody King, Tomohiro Ishii, Hologram, and Hiromu Takahashi

– Renee Paquette then catches up with Swerve Strickland on the entrance ramp, who assures everyone that he's good to compete against Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door for the AEW Unifed Championship despite being spotted at the medical office earlier today. Okada cuts off the pair and tells Strickland he may as well give up now, but Strickland reminds Okada whose house it is.

– We then head backstage, where Jon Moxley sits down for a conversation with The Young Bucks.

– The Opps then make their way to the ring. La Faccion Ingobernable follows.

The Opps vs. La Faccion Ingobernable

The Beast Mortos and Powerhouse Hobbs begin the action. The bell rings and the two go back and forth. Dralistico and Samoa Joe tag in, and Joe fires off right hands on Dralistico. He lands an enzuigiri on Dralistico, but Katsuyori Shibata tags in. Rush, Dralistico, and Mortos then land a triple dropkick on Shibata.

Back from the break, Mortos tags in and lands a neck crank on Shibata. Rush tags back in and fires off stomps on Shibata in the corner, then fires off chops on him. The two men exchange strikes, but Rush fires off chops on Shibata.

Hobbs tags in and lands a spinebuster on Mortos. Joe and Dralistico tag in, but Joe cinches in a Coquina Clutch on Dralistico. Mortos gets a Triangle cinched in on Hobbs, and Shibata locks in a submission on Rush. Dralistico taps out.

Winners: The Opps

– Once the main event of the evening is in the rear view mirror, we head backstage to the parking garage area, where we see AEW World Champion Hangman Page. He’s asked about the match against MJF, but the challenger blindsides him for a sneak attack.

MJF slams the Hangman’s head against the hood of a nearby car, asking Page if he remembers when MJF said he’d break him and saying he ain’t seen nothing yet. MJF walks off, leaving Hangman laid out as this week's show goes off the air
