CM Punk Announces Death of Beloved Dog Larry
WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk has announced that his dog Larry has passed away.
Punk shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on Monday, revealing that Larry died peacefully in his and wife AJ Lee’s arms. “The grief we carry is the price we pay for unconditional love,” Punk wrote. “Our little Larry crossed the rainbow bridge, wrapped tightly in our arms. He was safe and happy. Surrounded by love.”
The couple adopted Larry from PAWS Chicago, a no-kill shelter, in February 2015 after the dog had been returned three times. Punk has previously shared that when AJ showed him Larry’s photo, he immediately said, “Yes, that’s the one.”
Larry became a beloved figure in the wrestling world over the years, appearing backstage at both AEW and WWE events. He even had his own merchandise on, with Cody Rhodes recently confirming Larry was outselling some current talent and legends.
The dog’s health had been declining in recent months. Larry suffered a blown-out ACL in late 2023 and underwent surgery as recently as September 2025, with Punk opting to drive rather than fly to accommodate his pet’s recovery.
Larry also became part of WWE storyline when Drew McIntyre used the dog to taunt Punk during their heated rivalry in 2024, making their feud intensely personal.
Punk concluded his tribute: “Our boy is at rest. The house is quiet but we still hear the jingle of his necklace and the tip taps of his little feet on the hardwood floors. He will always be near. We will always feel him. Our hearts are broken. Until we see you again, sweetest Bobo. We love you. Forever.”
WWE responded to the post with a black heart emoji.
