The final countdown is on for one of the most anticipated dream matches in professional wrestling in the last decade – Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe – taking place live this Sunday exclusively at the “Genesis” Pay-Per-View.

On that very first night when Kurt Angle joined TNA with the “announcement heard ‘round the wrestling world” at September’s “No Surrender”, fans felt like children on Christmas Eve with all the potential dream matches that came with his signing. But nearly all were unanimous with their top choice – Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe.

They would quickly get their wishes granted.



The very first confrontation between Joe and Angle on the “iMPACT!” prior to “Bound For Glory” still brings goosebumps. The face-off….the bloody headbutt…the pull-apart and the chants of “Let Them Fight!” – all moments that will live on forever in the history of TNA Wrestling.

This Sunday live at “Genesis” in Orlando, Florida, there will be no security to separate Joe and Angle. For the first time since the Olympic gold medalist’s arrival, he and Joe will be allowed to go at each other with the ferocity of two pitbulls – and the entire wrestling world will be watching.

The feud between Joe and Angle isn’t based on hatred. Rather, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime showdown between two of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the sport to prove who the best truly is.

Angle has dominated both amateur and professional wrestling, becoming an Olympic gold medalist and a multi-time champion in the process. After conquering the ranks of his former employer, he saw the opportunity to come to TNA to take on a whole new world of competition. He demands to be regarded as the best ever and will settle for nothing less. He came to TNA to prove just that. Some say he is perhaps the most efficient and destructive fighting machine to ever walk the planet.

However, Samoa Joe would beg to differ.

If anyone has defined the word “domination” in professional wrestling, it has been “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe. Following his June 2005 debut in TNA Wrestling, Joe has been nothing short of unstoppable in his meteoric rise up the ranks. He has left bloodied and battered bodies piled high in his wake, amassing an amazing undefeated streak that still remains intact.

This Sunday on Pay-Per-View, Samoa Joe knows there is no greater threat to his win streak than the challenge of Kurt Angle – and he will do everything in his power to make sure that streak remains intact.

Fans have thoroughly enjoyed watching Kurt Angle completely decimate his opponents throughout his career. At the same time, they have equally savored Joe unmercifully pummel his victims. This Sunday on Pay-Per-View, those two worlds will finally collide for the first time – and the masses are looking forward to it unlike any other bout in the last decade.



Last week, both Joe and Angle began their intense training in preparation for the bout. Joe returned to Los Angeles to train alongside some of the best no-holds-barred fighters in the world, while Angle has rarely left the confines of his Pittsburgh training facility as he works like a demon to mentally and physically enter his zone of peek performance.
