This was all storyline. It had nothing to do with the Montreal Screwjob @ all even though it did happen later on that year.

People credit the Steve Austin fued with Vince as the birth of the Mr. McMahon character but it was clearly Bret who first made Vince look like an asshole which in turn made him Mr. McMahon. (Not that theres much difference between Vinnie Mac and Mr. Mac!)

Dam this bring back good memories
