DUESSELDORF, Germany (AP) -- Unbeaten Zsolt Erdei successfully defended his WBO light heavyweight title for the seventh time Saturday night, stopping American Danny Santiago in the eighth round.
The Hungarian, 26-0 with 16 knockouts, dropped Santiago (29-3-1) on his back with a right hand 2 minutes into the round. Another hard right seconds later staggered the American and the referee stopped the bout.
