Chris Hero Confirms He's Working As A Coach Backstage In AEW
Chris Hero has confirmed his new role working as a coach backstage with All Elite Wrestling.
Earlier this month, Fightful reported that Hero was backstage at the first episode of AEW Collision from Chicago's United Center. At the time, it was noted that Hero was working behind the scenes on a trial basis.
On Monday, Hero posted a photo of himself backstage at Sunday's AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view. It remains to be seen if he's still working for AEW on a trial basis or if he's officially All Elite, but Hero has decades of knowledge to share with the roster.
Chris Hero was once part of the legendary Kings of Wrestling tag team, along with AEW/NJPW star Claudio Castagnoli.
He was formerly with WWE from 2011-2013, when he wrestled in developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling and later NXT. Hero returned to NXT in 2016 and later transitioned to NXT UK, before he was released in 2020.
Chris Hero hasn't wrestled since March 2020, when he competed in a #1 Contendership Battle Royal for NXT UK. That said, we might not have seen the last of him inside the squared circle. Earlier this month, Hero clarified that he is not done wrestling, which leaves the door open for a possible KoR reunion some day in AEW or ROH.
