Tessa Blanchard Denies Racism Allegations: “Never Been in My Heart”
TNA wrestler Tessa Blanchard has once again addressed allegations of racism that have followed her since 2020, telling critics to “move on” in a series of social media posts this week.
The controversy reignited after Blanchard posted a holiday message on X on December 18, writing “Here’s to the many blessings this year.” When a user in the comments brought up past allegations that she used a racial slur toward wrestler La Rosa Negra during a 2017 incident in Japan, Blanchard responded directly.
"I’m not perfect, made plenty of mistakes in my life.. racism is not one of them nor has that ever been in my heart,” Blanchard wrote. “An incident from 10 years ago has continuously gotten twisted into something that race had absolutely nothing to do with because of the social climate. I’m tired of being used as click bait. Move on.”
When asked point-blank if she’s racist, Blanchard replied: “Nope. Never have been. Let’s move the hell on.”
The allegations first surfaced publicly in January 2020 when multiple wrestlers, including Allysin Kay and Chelsea Green, accused Blanchard of bullying behavior. La Rosa Negra confirmed the 2017 incident occurred, though Blanchard has consistently denied using racial language. The two reportedly made amends in 2023, posting a photo together.
Blanchard returned to TNA in December 2024 and is currently featured regularly on television, teaming with Victoria Crawford as a top heel in the Knockouts division.
