Main Event: AEW World Championship Fatal Four-Way
Samoa Joe (c) vs. “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland vs. MJF
The main event brings together four of AEW’s biggest stars in a volatile championship showdown. Samoa Joe captured the AEW World Championship at Full Gear by defeating Hangman Page inside a steel cage after interference from Hook, who turned on Page during the match. Following his loss, Page immediately challenged Joe to a rematch at Worlds End.
The match became a triple threat when Swerve Strickland, who returned at Full Gear to confront Joe, declared himself the rightful number one contender on Collision: Winter is Coming. The situation escalated dramatically at the December 17 Dynamite: Holiday Bash contract signing when MJF made his surprise return after a three-month absence following All Out. The former champion invoked his Casino Gauntlet contract to insert himself into the match, creating the four-way scenario.
This match represents a collision of intertwined rivalries. Joe ended MJF’s historic title reign at Worlds End 2023, while Strickland defeated Joe for his first AEW World Championship at Dynasty earlier this year. Page and Strickland share a complex history of brutal rivalry that has evolved into an uneasy alliance, with both men seeking to reclaim championship glory. With three former champions challenging the current titleholder, the outcome could dramatically reshape AEW’s main event scene heading into 2026.
Continental Classic Semifinal Matches
Kazuchika Okada vs. Konosuke Takeshita
Gold League co-winner Kazuchika Okada faces Blue League winner Konosuke Takeshita in what promises to be a clash of styles and ambitions. Okada enters as the defending Continental Classic champion and current AEW International Champion, holding both titles as part of his unified championship reign. The tournament winner from 2024 locked in his semifinal spot with a victory over Mike Bailey on Christmas Collision.
Takeshita has been on an absolute tear throughout 2025, wrestling the second-most matches on the AEW roster and delivering consistently exceptional performances in the Continental Classic. His combination of power and precision has made him one of the promotion’s most dominant forces. This match pits Okada’s arrogance and championship experience against Takeshita’s momentum and hunger for gold.
Kyle Fletcher vs. Jon Moxley
TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher squares off against Death Riders leader Jon Moxley in the second semifinal. Fletcher has arguably been the MVP of the entire tournament, delivering standout performances throughout the round-robin stage, particularly his acclaimed match against Kevin Knight. The Gold League co-winner secured his semifinal berth by edging out Jack Perry on Christmas Collision.
Moxley, the Blue League runner-up, advanced with a victory over Orange Cassidy. The former AEW World Champion has experienced a rollercoaster 2025, losing the world title to Page at All In and suffering multiple high-profile defeats, yet he remains one of the most dangerous competitors in the company. This marks the first singles encounter between Fletcher and Moxley, with Fletcher appearing positioned for a major push in 2026.
Continental Classic Final
The winners of both semifinal matches will meet later in the evening to determine the 2025 Continental Classic champion and crown a new AEW Continental Champion. With Okada’s unified championship status, the tournament carries even greater significance for the promotion’s championship hierarchy.
AEW Women’s World Championship
Kris Statlander (c) vs. Jamie Hayter
Champion Kris Statlander defends her title against Jamie Hayter in what represents Hayter’s closest opportunity to reclaim championship gold since losing the belt to Toni Storm in 2023. The path to this match took an unconventional route, as Statlander and Hayter have been allies rather than enemies in recent weeks.
After the pair teamed up to defeat Julia Hart and Skye Blue on the December 13 Collision, Hayter challenged Statlander for a title match at Worlds End. The champion accepted, setting up a respectful but competitive showdown between two of AEW’s most physical performers. Statlander has held the championship with pride since winning it in a four-way match, taking on all challengers and most recently defeating Mercedes Moné. This marks her fourth title defense of this reign.
Hayter returned from injury with strong momentum and has rebuilt herself as a major contender through fierce and explosive performances. While Hayter represents AEW’s future as a multi-time champion, Statlander’s reign still feels incomplete, making this a difficult match to predict.
AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship
Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale) (c) vs. Mercedes Moné & Athena
The inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions make their first title defense against a formidable duo of singles champions. Cameron and Nightingale captured the titles by winning the tournament and have quickly established themselves as a cohesive and effective team, with their partnership bringing out the best in both performers.
Challengers Mercedes Moné (AEW TBS Champion) and Athena (ROH Women’s World Champion, who has held her title for over 1,000 days) represent championship pedigree and proven excellence. The history between these teams dates to the tournament’s first round, where the Babes of Wrath eliminated Moné and Athena en route to winning the titles.
On the December 17 Dynamite, Moné pinned Nightingale in an eight-woman tag team match before issuing the championship challenge backstage. While Moné and Athena are individually dominant, they have limited experience as a tag team, whereas the Babes of Wrath have developed strong chemistry and carry the responsibility of establishing credibility for the new championship.
Chicago Street Fight for AEW World Tag Team Championship
FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) (c) vs. Bang Bang Gang (Austin Gunn & Juice Robinson)
The legendary tag team of FTR defends their AEW World Tag Team Championships under Chicago Street Fight rules against the resilient Bang Bang Gang. Despite suffering injuries throughout their AEW tenure, Gunn and Robinson have demonstrated tremendous heart and determination, including a competitive loss to FTR at the December 17 Collision.
FTR successfully defended the titles against Bang Bang Gang at Collision Holiday Bash, but the rematch with no disqualifications and falls counting anywhere adds an unpredictable element. The Street Fight stipulation favors the challengers by negating FTR’s technical advantages and allowing for a more chaotic environment where anything can happen.
Darby Allin vs. Gabe Kidd
This match represents Darby Allin’s return to singles action after dropping out of the Continental Classic due to injury. Allin seeks revenge against Gabe Kidd, who choked him out as a hired mercenary for the Death Riders at Blood & Guts. The rivalry recently reignited following Allin’s return to action after recovering from a hospitalization following an accident against Kevin Knight.
Kidd, a rising star from New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s LA Dojo and member of Bullet Club War Dogs, has long been associated with Jon Moxley’s faction. He brings his own savage brand of violence to match Allin’s daredevil style. Allin has built his reputation by pulling off high-stakes victories against the most dangerous opponents, and Kidd fits the mold of Darby’s greatest rivals. This clash of styles could produce one of the night’s most hard-hitting encounters.
Mixed Nuts Mayhem Match
The Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC & Marina Shafir) vs. The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong) & Toni Storm
AEW has not yet fully explained the rules or format for this eight-person Mixed Nuts Mayhem match, adding intrigue to the contest. The match features members of The Death Riders faction against a coalition of The Conglomeration and Toni Storm, with the presence of Marina Shafir, Mark Briscoe, and Storm suggesting the potential for a bloody and physical encounter.
Castagnoli and Shafir have been experiencing particularly strong runs in recent weeks, making them favorites to secure victory for their team. The match format appears similar to AEW’s Anarchy in the Arena style, with chaotic rules that should favor the Death Riders’ aggressive approach.
Zero Hour Pre-Show
Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) vs. Hyan & Maya World
The Zero Hour pre-show features a women’s tag team match with the Sisters of Sin duo of Hart and Blue facing Hyan and Maya World. Based on the Sisters of Sin’s recent momentum, they enter as favorites in this opening contest. The match will stream free on AEW’s YouTube channel starting at 7:00 PM ET.
Looking Ahead
AEW Worlds End 2025 represents the company’s final pay-per-view of the year and carries significant implications for the promotion’s direction heading into 2026. With championship matches across every major division, the conclusion of the Continental Classic tournament, and the return of MJF to championship contention, Saturday’s event promises to deliver the high-stakes drama and exceptional in-ring action that has defined AEW’s pay-per-view offerings throughout 2025.
The NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates will host its fifth AEW pay-per-view and seventh overall event in the Chicago metropolitan area, continuing the promotion’s strong relationship with the passionate Chicago wrestling fanbase.
AEW Worlds End 2025 airs live Saturday, December 27 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT on pay-per-view through multiple platforms, with the Zero Hour pre-show beginning one hour earlier on AEW’s YouTube channel.
