Update On Jacob Fatu’s Injury
WWE is worried about Jacob Fatu.
The company had recently confirmed that the Clash In Italy WWE Championship match between Gunther and Cody Rhodes will be part of the opening hour on . This meant that the announced World Title match between Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu was poised to main event the PLE.
The Samaon Werewolf, however, was seen limping following his match at a Liverpool house show on May 28, raising concerns about his status for the PPV event this Sunday.
PWinsider provided some updates on the matter, revealing that Jacob Fatu was not just selling after his Street Fight with Solo Sikoa, and he was legitimately hurt in the bout.
The site noted that WWE was concerned that he might not be cleared in time for his match against Roman Reigns and that the company was considering alternative plans in case this happens.
Cory Hays of False Finish also confirmed that the promotion was looking into potential pivots, though he claimed that the officials are operating under the assumption that the former US Champion will be fine by Sunday:
There is no word on what the pivot will look like if Fatu is unable to compete at the show. It’s possible that we will see Cody Rhodes and Gunther main eventing the PPV if the other world title match does not go as planned.
