Live from Hammerstein Ballroom, New York/USA
Show opens outside the Hammerstein Ballroom on the streets, where EAM World Heavyweight Champion; MJF, The Primetime Bitch Champion; Charlotte Flair and the NEW Pride Champion; Aaron Stevens, who is hindered by a couple of big beefy bouncers as they are about to enter the arena. They are then informed that they are banned from the arena, due to their provoking and agitating behavior as of late. All three explodes offcourse, trying to tell the two guys that they are the face of the company etc. but this does not impress the two brutes in any way. They start a real racket, which makes passerby's stop, curious of what the fuzz is about. We cut to the Jamboree vignette...
Makes sense. Not the first time it’s happened.
Scene opens at ringside where Brian and Nigel welcomes us to another episode of monday night Jamboree, and the aftermath of " The Jewel In The Crown " and what a PPV it was! Brian and Nige discuss the actions that went down, and they mention that the PPV almost had a " Grandslam " feel to it. No doubt we are going to get some backlash from the event tonight, but we must also look forward. EAM's next PPV will be the 8th installment of the Hardcore Hangover event, and the PPV will be live from here, The Hammerstein Ballroom! (We get a short teaser for the event) It's been a while since we've been hosting a PPV from our home arena. Actually not since season 14, and the last ever Heating Up (Heating Up 10 - The Combustion) which marked the end of the Heating Up as a annual PPV. But digressions aside, there is already some news regarding the upcoming PPV, as hardcore Legend, "The Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal, Death–Defying Maniac" Sabu has announced his retirement. And in that regard EAM wants to honor Sabu with one last match. And when Sabu was asked if he had a dream opponent, someone that he's never faced in the ring, Sabu said that there is one individual he would have loved to wrestle before he tie up his boots. Not only because their styles are so obviously different, and their size as well, but because that person is the single handedly most dangerous guy in the business. A man that could easily kill you if he wanted to. And Sabu gotta respect that. And that person is Brock Lesnar... As we know, Brock is currently signed to the EAM roster, so such a match is not unthinkable. It all comes down to Brock, and if he feels like it or not. We are then brutally interrupted by a vicious whistle. Could it be? It's Bill Alfonso! Sabu's old manager, and he takes it up on himself to talk smack on behalf of Sabu, adressing Lesnar, and provoking him with all thinkable insults in the english language. This surely heats things up, and Brock is bound to respond to this in some way. We then cut back to ringside where Melissa Santos is ready to announce the competitors for our first match of the evening, but she's getting interrupted as music cranks the arena speakers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ovoQQw1qic . This is not a song we hear often, as chairman of the board and CEO of EAM Promotions, Emil A. walks out on the stage. He quikcly apologize to Melissa and to the fans, but promise he will be quick, as he has to adress what's going on right now, and he's pretty sure the fans wants some answers as well. Emil A. explains that there has not been a tradition of stripping champions of their championships in EAM. Not if someone gets injured while being champion, or for that matter any other reason. But working against the company, starting a union to work against the person who put food on your table? Well, that is a completely different beast! There is no secret, that I don't like MJF and his attitude, but I've tried to be professional about it. After all, he wears the most prestigious wrestling title in the world around his waist. But what he's doing is completely unheard of, and it will have consequenses! Not only that, but he's managed to get two other champions to join him on this ridiculous crusade of his. It has to stop, but in EAM, we do it the right way, as wrestling disputes should be solved. In the ring! Now I am not going to pull a Vince and hog anyone's limelight during a PPV, as Emil says he promised himself after his showdown agaist Travis at Grandslam 16 that it would be his last match. But, as CEO of this company, he can easily pull the strings necessary, to make MJF suffer for his misbehaviour. When you spot the name of EAM Promotions, and the 12 pounds of gold that is The EAM World Heavyweight Championship, you will suffer the consequenses. So, at Hardcore Hangover, right here in Hammerstein Ballroom, MJF will be defending The EAM World Heavyweight Championship, against a very special opponent, handpicked by ME. And the match will be contested under Hardcore Rules, inside a very special cage. When that is said, MJF's acquaintances will also be punished, but Emil A. are leaving that responsibility to Regal and Quinn, as general managers of their respective brands. Emil A. then thanks everyone for their time. He will leave them for now, but he can assure everyone that EAM management will solve the current problems, not making it inconvenient for the fans in any way. Now Melissa, take it away!.
Sabu Vs Brock how random but interesting and Heyman/Alfonso on each side?. That could be interesting. Old ECW call back. Hitler vs MJF maybe. DDP/Goldberg/Arquette all Jewish champions. Lot happening, crazy stuff coming up. Good MJF/Emil feud continuing on. Hardcore cage hmm interesting. Maybe lethal lockdown, war games/chamber, clockwork orange type gimmick. MJF won’t be happy but no way out so it makes sense. Guess no Emil vs MJF but makes sense. Last match against TG. What if conjoined twins ran as president who would be president?.
Singles Matchup
John Morrison Vs Gino Medina
In maybe a shock Medina gets the victory after a choke out. Morrison not doing too well without Taya. Morrison gets some moves in but it’s just not enough for the win. He seemingly calls out his old friend MJF after.
We get a promo from Jon Moxley next. It's almost like an old school wrestling promo. Mox is sitting on a chair in a dark, dimly lit basement somewhere. We can hear water dripping from old corrosioned pipes. Moxley wastes no time, cutting straight to the chase, killing the elephant in the room. He starts with a warning, no doubt adressed to Nick Gage, where he says that for the last sixteen years, EAM has been Moxley's playground. Moxley's turf. He's been a posterboy for this company for all those years, accomplished more than most. He's a future hall of famer, and you are nothing but a fool if you think that Jon Moxley has held that EAM World Heavyweight strap for the last time in his career. But right now, he's got more important things on his schedule. Vermin to get rid off! If Nick thinks he can walse in here, doing his thing Like this was ICW, GCW or CZW, he's got another thing coming! For years it's been talked about. Some even calls it a dream match. But Moxley can assure everyone, the fans and Nick Gage alike, that a match between Moxley and Cage would never be how the fans anticipated or dreamt of. It would be a fucking slaughter! But since Nick already violated Moxley's privacy, why not take Gage to the slaughterhouse once and for all? When you put your hand into a hornet's nest, prepare yourself to be stung! And if you think you intimidate me with a couple of lighttubes, dude! You gotta be kidding me! Moxley gets up from the chair then and picks up a log of light tubes, crushing it over his own head. He screams at the camera, ordering Nick to call the funeral parlour and order himself a nice casket, because his funeral is not far away...
Hahaha awesome promo. Could totally see him doing that. Maybe chair is made out of tubes also. Possible 200 lighttube death match is coming or Foley/Cardona involved in some way…unless they doing something else.
Singles Matchup
Pentagon Jr. Vs Bobby Lashley
Interesting match here. Never before done. Pentagon could be a future world champion but of course Lashley needs the win so gets it after the double rolling spear.
We get a promo from Bayley 2-Belts next (as she's calling herself) in the ring. She put's down Charlotte Flair, first for the fact that she beat her at " The Jewel In The Crown " but also because she's teamed up with MJF and Stevens. Says something about Charlotte's taste in men. She gets interrupted then, as Piper Niven makes her way out on the stage. Bayley asks what the fuck Piper wants, and Piper just points at Bayley's belts. Bayley laughs, asking if this is a joke?! A rib? Oh.... Piper is actually serious? Bayley continue to laugh, but this annoys Piper, who makes her way down the ramp towards the ring. Bayley wisely removes herself from the ring and escapes trough the fans. We go to commercials with Piper standing in the ring, pointing at Bayley as her music cranks the arena speakers...
Next feud it looks like. Not sure she should go after both and just focus on one.
As we get back from commercials, we go to a segment with AJ Styles and Triple C, who's still in Europe, and right now they are in Rome, Italy. We see a collage of different things that the two has been experiencing while being in Italy, from watching old ruins and cathedrals, to eating pasta. But then we go to a pre-taped matchup from a Italian promotion, where AJ Styles are defending his EAM CrossPromotional Championship against Antonia De Luca.
Guess he kept the title after a top rope Styles Clash. Good idea and funny stuff. Like Eurotrip or montage.
*** PRE-TAPED ***
We get another segment as we get back from commercials. Someone puts an old VHS casette in a VCR player, and on a TV screen above we see clips from wrestling matches. Something looks pretty familiar somehow. Then a voiceover starts to talk. We get the not so well known history of something that was named EAM Underground, and get some sort of sense about what it was. The person who's talking about this well hidden secret says that he used to take part of their shows. And that he never lost a match. As a matter of fact, he's never lost a match in EAM. He then reveals that besides being in EAM Underground, he's wrestled two matches on EAM's main roster. And both matches was at Grandslam. Not a bad resume am I right? The camera is then turned, so we can finally see the person talking. It's revealed to be " The Irish Devil " Douglas O' Shea. He then informs that he just got the information that he's been signed to the main roster, and on that occasion, he wants to continue his legacy, proving that he's not a person who ever backs down. And what better PPV to make his official roster debut on than the upcoming Hardcore Hangover event? He's ready to prove that he is a man of his words. And that he won't back down to anyone that gets thrown at him!.
Don’t really know this guy but guess we’ll get to know him in the future. Not even sure that Grandslam match took place.
Tag Team Matchup
Rey Fenix & Will Ospreay Vs Richard Holliday & Alexander Hammerstone
Pretty fun match here actually. Some solid action from both teams. Rey and Will really want to get that tag title match. At the end after an Essex destroyer/flip piledriver combo. T virus 619/tombsault combo they get the win once again. What a team!.
We get a interview with John Cena next, as Alicia Atout catches him backstage. She congratulate him on a impressive victory against Goldberg at " The Jewel In The Crown " and Cena thanx. Alicia then asks Cena what his intentions and hopes for the future in EAM are, and John says that he's really here to experience the spectacle, and entertain the fans. He's come to a stage of his career where championships aint that important. It's cool still beiong able to participate in the game, and he gotta admit, wrestling for EAM was always a small dream, after leaving WWE. When it comes to hopes, there are no doubt a couple of guys he would love to go a match against, but it's not up to him to decide really. Alicia then asks if John would like to share who he's talking about with the fans. John says that some things are better not told, as a spoiled surprise is not a surprise. But there is no doubt that WALTER is a very unique individual, in which John would find it interesting to tangle with. But as he said, it's not up to him to decide. He then excuse himself as the main event is coming up, and that's a match John don't wanna miss...
Good promo. That’s Cena’s role now. Lose some and win some. Put over young guys. Maybe a title down the line.
EAM Television Championship Matchup
WALTER (c) Vs Shawn Michaels
The fans are going crazy for this dream match but the match doesn’t even start as Bobby Lashley interferes, giving the referee no other decision to rule the match a no-contest. A brawl occurs, but WALTER gets the best off Lashley, sending him over the top rope and out of the ring. WALTER celebrates in the ring, with Lashley furious outside when music suddenly cranks the arena speakers. Cena walks out on the stage, getting a pretty good reaction from the crowd. He's carrying a microphone and wastes no time, adressing Lashley, asking him why the hell he just ruined what could have been one hell of a wrestling match? Not only that, it was even a title match at that. Not only did Lashley just screw Shawn, wasting his chance of possibly winning The EAM Television Title. But you just screwed the fans out of a main event title match. Cena then asks Lashley, if he sincerely thinks that's the way to go, to get a title match? Lashley gets madder and madder for each word coming out of Cena's mouth, and at one point he's had enough. He makes his way with great speed up the ramp, ready to take out John will all his force. He goes for a spear, but Cena moves out of harms way. Lashley collides with the titantron with great impact. Lights and electronics explodes in a electric rain. Cena wastes no time. He lifts Lashley up on his shoulders and nails a devastating FU on the steel stage before doing his vintage " you can't see me " Show ends with WALTER and Cena staring each other down. The Champion standing in the ring. And Cena standing over Lashley on the stage....
Makes sense. Better if the match doesn’t happen at all to keep the dream match protected for a bigger show or PPV. Keeps WALTER strong and builds Lashley/Cena/WALTER. Could add Shawn as well but might be too much.
As the show ends, we get a strange promo, filmed in black and white and with a strange and curious circus theme in the background. We se a person, sitting on a chair with his back to the camera. He's typing something on an old typewriter. As the camera zooms in we can see the big letters on top of the document in the writer. It's a EAM contract. But, down the whole page, is four word, repeated and repeated until the bottom of the page, almost in a Jack Nicholson-The Shining esque way.... " Very Nice....Very Evil ".
Hmm no idea. We get a lot of mysterious stuff in EAM.
