Episode #208 - Taped in New York/USA

Don Callis & Joe Rogan welcomes us to another epiode of Friday Night Pride, as Music cranks the speakers, and General Manager William Regal walks down to the ring, where he then announce to everyone, but especially The Pride Champion; Aaron Stevens, that last time he checked, he was the GM around here, and HE calls the shots. And threats does not affect the decisions that are being made regarding the future of The Pride Championship. Opposing the guys who pays your bills are never a good idea. Neither is the threat about jumping ships while holding championship gold. If Aaron Stevens wanna walk out of here, the door is right there! Just remember to leave behind that Pride Championship at the doorstep, because that second you decide to do something stupid like that, you will not only be stripped from the championship, but you will be historic, being the only champion in EAM's almost 17 years of existence, to be stripped of a title. That's really something to brag about huh? Oh well, guess it fits Stevens persona perfectly actually. Anyways, those are the actions that will be made, if Stevens decides to make an ass of himself. He's not alone however, as he's followed by a bunch of guards, wearing Karate outfits and black headbands. What is this all about? Regal thanks Stevens for coming out hewre, but would much like to have him down here in the ring with him. Stevens explains then that he's real comfortable where he is, surrounded by his guards. Or entourage as he calls them. Stevens agree with defending the title against Mil on the upcoming PPV, however, with just one tiny detail added. Regal asks what and Stevens explains that usually on PRIDE's only PPV during the year, some people are granted a match who might just win them a chance to move up to the main brand right? Regal cannot disagree with this, asking what Stevens are going at? Stevens then explains to Regal that he thinks it's stupid that a mid-carder might get that chance, while the Pride Champion however, only gets the chance to defend his title, which is a minor title mind you, but does not get the chance to move up to Jamboree if he retains. Are you catching my drift William? Regal does, and he tells Aaron that how much he hates admitting it, Stevens't got a point. Not only that, but if Stevens actually might work miracles and retain against Mil, Regal wont have to put up with Stevens on a weekly basis anymore.... Regal then tell Stevens he's got a deal! We cut to the Pride vignette....

Makes sense building up to a match at Supersplash. Gimmick match I guess. Confusing ending though. Some stuff didn’t exactly make sense. Guess if he wins he goes to the main roster. I thought he would be the reason Pride shut down. Kind of weird he if he takes the title to main roster but makes sense to keep the title around if Pride is dying. Same with Heavy. Merge or retire titles maybe. Would be funny to see Sandow vs WALTER or even being forced to wrestle MJF could be fun.

8-Man Tag Team Elimination Matchup
The Fixers (Jay Bradley and Wrecking Ball Legursky) Vs FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dash Harwood) Vs Bear Country (Bear Bronson and Bear Boulder) Vs Varsity Blondes (Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff G.)

Lot of people in this one. Signature, finishing, high flying and spots from everyone. Dives over the top rope also onto each other. First team eliminated are FTR by Blondes. Out next are Fixers by Bear Country leaving two teams left. Back and forth action from the final two teams. Bear gets the pin on Blondes winning this match.

We go backstage where Alicia Atout are standing about to interview The Pride Tag Team Champions; Otis and Tucker, known to most wrestling fans as Heavy Machinery. When they are asked about what they think about the tag match that just took place, and who they think will get a shot at their tag titles at the upcoming Pride PPV, they reply by telling Alicia that whoever steps up will get the same treatment that everyone else has gotten. Besides, they have beaten them all, honestly, they really dont see anyone doing it. They have beaten Fan favorites, underdogs, the new guys on the block, they have even put down a couple of legendary tag teams along the way. So sure, if there is any team out there who thinks they got what it takes to beat Otis and Tucker, go ahead, they encourage it. Now you gotta excuse them, because they are about to ravage that foodstand before it closes for the night. We cut back to the ring for our next matchup...

No idea. They’ve beaten everybody. NWO?, DX?, who knows. Not sure if they should retire with the titles or technically they should lose them or maybe merge the titles with the main roster if Pride shuts down.

Singles Matchup
Odyssey Jones Vs Max Caster

The match ends in a double count out as Jones and Caster takes the match outside the ring, not caring about the referee's ten count. Jones puts Caster trough the barricade with a gore like manouver, and that's all she wrote. This rivalry/feud has been going on for some time now. Maybe it will end at the upcoming Pride PPV? We cut to commercials....

Looks like another match. Maybe a last man standing type gimmick.

Our main event for tonight is a special one indeed. All four of them are relative new arrivals on the Pride brand, but especially Eli Drake and Chad Gable has been after each other since they arrived. Sabian and Deppen however bears no personal grude against each other, but they have meet each other two times in singles competition since their arrival, where they have won win each. How will the team-up of these four turn up? Guess we are about to find out.

Eli Drake & Kip Sabian Vs Chad Gable & Tony Deppen

An okay main event but not the best talent. The future of wrestling looks terribly bleak if these four are the best we have. Some good spots from all involved though. Some double teaming spots also from them all. At the end of the match Gable gets the win after the military press wheelbarrow suplex.

Episode #53 - Live from The Grand Ballroom/New York


Show opens with the announcement that tonights main event will be a title match in wich Jade Cargill and Red Velvet will get their long awaited re-match for The EAM Womens Tag Team Championships. Not only that, but our opening contest tonight will feature yet another debutant here on the womens roster, as Russian wrestler Natalia Markova will go her first match under the EAM flag. So what are we waiting for? We cut to the Spotlight vignette...

Beth and Jillian welcomes us to another episode of Spotlight, and they are excited about the new debut tonight, as Markov makes her way out to the arena. She gets a good cheer from the audience as she makes her way out on the stage and walks up to Renee Young who's standing at the interviews stand beside the titantron. Renee welcomes her to EAM and Spotlight before asking Natalia what her expectations are. Natalia tells Renee and the fans in attendance that she hope she can contribute to the roster, win matches and work her way up the hiarachy. She has no battle plan, except having a good time, and maybe make some fans along the way. Renee then gesture for her to make her way to the ring, as the scene is hers. She makes her way into the ring, where she gets another cheer from the crowd before her opponents music hits the arena speakers.

Natalia Markova Vs Kenzie Paige

We get a promo from Charlotte Flair next, as she is reeled in backstage by Alicia Atout. Charlotte gets annoyed by this, as Charlotte is known for not being a fan of Alicia and her journalism. Alicia asks Charlotte if she can give us a more in-depth story on what all this stuff about The Foley's and especially Noelle is all about? Charlotte explodes in fury, screaming at Alicia straight to her face, first insulting her stupid journalism, as she should very well know why, and as a journalist and interviewer, she should at least take the time to research it. But offcourse, Alicia always takes the easy way as usual. But for once, Charlotte will be happy to inform Alicia what it's all about. But then, we get a short segment of blurr's and beeps, as almost every word Charlotte says is cencored. She leaves Alicia standing, flabbergasted and bewildered, with a gaping expression on her face. It actually takes a couple of seconds before she realize we are live and tell the camera to cut back to the arena where our next match is about to start.

Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter Vs Kiera Hogan & Shotzi Blackhart

As we get back from commercial break, we get a pre-taped segment, where we see The EAM Center of Attention Champion, and The Impact Knockouts Champion; Bayley on one of the most famous american talk shows. The talk goes on how Bayley has reached the peek of her career, and she gets the question about what she's about now. Bayley explains that she's not gonna rest on the laurels, at least not yet. Right now she might be 2-Belt Bayley, but she can assure everuone that this is just the start. And the next step is, 3-Belt Bayley. When the talk show host asks Bayley if there is anyone special or a special belt she has in mind, Bayley can assure everyone that she has a special belt in mind. And the forbidden door is not going to be a problem, because the person she has in mind already has a contract with EAM Promotions....

We get a backstage segment with Ronda and Mickie next, as they have just witnessed the match between Leyla and Blue on a screen backstage. Mickie sighs when Ronda asks what's the matter. Mickie tells Ronda it saddens her heart that she's at the final stage at her career, while there is so many new interesting girls stepping up in the industry that she would love to dance with....

And your saviour and hero; Maxwell Jacob Friedman, is the one who will make it happen. Just like a very stupid Samoan, MJF will make sure that the company implodes from the inside. How you ask? By keeping on to this worthless token you guys call The EAM World Heavyweight Championship! MJF has beaten five " Legends " already during his short run as champion, and he's just getting started! Meanwhile, E.A.M. are growing, getting more members every minute. Soon the Despot will be overturned.... We cut to Jamboree vignette...

Brian and Nigel welcomes us to the last Jamboree episode before the wrestlers takes a well deserved vacation, and when we get back, it will be live from the beaches of Acapulco, Mexico, for the biggest event of the summer. The 11th installment of Supersplash! Nigel then reminds everyone about the fact that even though this is the last Jamboree before Supersplash, we are going to see you again this saturday, for the 5th ever episode of " Saturday Night Showcase "

As we get back from commercial break we go backstage where Renee Young is about to interview the newest addition to the Jamboree roster; Danhausen. He introduces himself (for newer viewers as he says) and tells everyone how truly nice and evil it is to be here. It's like working for the biggest circus in town....Very nice....Very evil.....Renee tries to focus, as a professional, but getting something coherent or sane out of Danhausen seems pretty impossible. The interview are cut short as well, when Orange Cassidy walks by. This distracts Danhausen and Cassidy stops only to adjusts his sunglasses so he can peek over them. He looks at Danhausen for a couple of seconds before he puts the glasses back and does a clicking sound with his noise (almost like the sound when someone triggers a gun) before he keeps on walking down the corridoor. Danhausen looks after him before turning to Renee, asking who that was. Renee informs Danhausen about his name, in which Danhausen makes a sucking sound with his mouth before saying " Mmmmm....Orange....Very nice....Very Evil.... Avoid scurvy..." Renee then try to have Danhausen focus, as she try to explain that the reason she wanted to meet him was because she wanted to ask him what he thinks about Cara Noir talking about Danhausen on social media. Danhausen thinks for a while, then says he does not understand. Renee then takes up an ipad and shows him. Danhausen laughs then, only saying " Funny bird with big mouth, speaking about Danhausen. Not worry, different brands " Renee then shows Danhausen the scheduled card for the upcoming 5th episode of Saturday Night Showcase, where he is scheduled to face off agains Cara Noir. Danhausen laughs again " ahh....special event. Clever bird.....very nice....Very evil... "

As we are about to go to our main event for tonight, we get a promo from Triple Champion (EAM TV Champion, Ornate Prime Champion and BMF Champion) WALTER. The whole setting is like taken out of a world war 2 movie, as WALTER is dressed in voller kriegs montur The whole promo is actually cut in german (with english sub-titles) and this is the first time that WALTER is truly furious in front of the camera. He does not only put down all competition, but predicts the future as well. Even mentioning MJF and that he's coming for him eventually, adding his title to his collection. But before that, he's gotta get rid of this nasty vermin Michael Shawn Hickenbottom, and mark him with the right star. He then ends the promo with a very eerie quote about progress and conquest....

Solid match from both. Old LU style match. Back and forth from both. High flying, springboards and spots. Angelico with a top rope stomp. Pentagon with a Packaged Piledriver for the 3 count and win.

Haha makes sense I guess. Two different styles should be interesting. Maybe not the best technical wrestling match but should be a spectacle.

Another win for AJ in this one. He’s gonna break the record for most defences if this continues on. Dain uses his powerful style but just not enough for a Styles Clash and Spiral tap. No idea where this Cesaro/AJ thing is heading.

Nice tease with MJF but not yet, would be a good feud though especially the since MJF is Jewish. Good promo and yup Shawn match is next. Should be good. Could even open the show but too big for that maybe.

Another pretty solid match from all involved. Back and forth action from all. High flying spots also. Can you top this outside the ring. North get eliminated first by Bucks with a SUPERKICK party then the Bucks eliminate Party with a MBFYB followed by Butcher and Blade being eliminated following a Meltzer Indy Taker Driver. A clean sweep for the Bucks. Cornette won’t be happy.

Really have no idea what they can do next. Definitely wasn’t the plan from the beginning for it to be this long but it happened. Maybe Tucker vs Otis for both titles?. Show opens with a video package, showing the tension between Max Caster and Odyssey Jones that has been going on as of late. We see highlights of their earlier encounters in the ring before we are lead up to the current time, and we see their last match at the 208th episode of Pride ended in a double count out, as the two men took the match outside the ropes and started to brawl ringside, not caring about the referee's count. So at the upcoming Pride PPV, Caster and Odyssey are facing each other, most probably for the last time, at least in Pride and EAM, as they are facing each other in a contract re-newal matchup, and that match will be contested under No DQ rules, with no count outs! We cut to the Pride vignette...

Don Callis & Joe Rogan welcomes us to the 210th episode of friday night Pride, and we are closing in on the 5th ever Pride exclusive PPV in history " Fight Of The Following " which will be live from Carmel-By-The-Sea. But that's still a week away, and before that we have some real good wrestling for you. As we get back from commercial break we get a nice surprise, as Pete Dunne returns after weeks and weeks of injuries. He walks out to the ring and cut's a promo, getting a good reaction from the audience, until music cranks the arena speakers and he is interrupted. Matthew Riddle walks out on the stage, getting booo's from the audience for ruining Dunne's comeback-moment. Riddle does not care and walks down the rampway, heading for the ring. He enters and walks straight up to Dunne where he informs Dunne that he just wanted to welcome Dunne back in person. And while doing it, giving him this....BAAMMM! Riddle knocks Dunne down with a straight punch. Riddle then takes over, shooting a promo right there and then, with some true frustration for sure. He does not approve of Dunne coming back, getting all this attention without doing anything to deserve it. All this boils down to a impromtu match between the two of them right here on this episode of Pride...

We get a backstage segment next where Chad Gable is standing on a ladder backstage, trying to help some of the boys hanging up a birthday banner for none other than the chairman himself, when Eli Drake walks by and kicks the ladder away (pretending totally innocent about it) Gable falls down, crushing trough a table with a big birthday cake on it. The banner slowly falls on top of him. Eli laughs at the situation, but Gable however does not find the situation as amusing. He quickly makes his way back up on his feet, and despite being covered in cake and icing, he goes at Eli with murder in mind. The other guys that are present holds Gable back however, telling him that Eli is not worth it. Eli keeps mocking him however, asking Gable what he thinks the boss will say when he sees his birthday cake in ruins. Gable are still been hold back by the other guys, so instead he spits at Eli, and he actually manage to hit Eli in the face. He then screams to Eli that this company is not big enough for both of them... We cut back to the arena for our main event....
