A Supershow, Live from Madison Square Garden, New York
Show opens with a video package, replying the biggest higlights from EAM's 6th ever Slobberknocker PPV. So much action went down, so it's almost impossible to know where to start to be honest. Brian and Nigel are raving abour what went down, and can almost not collect themselves. We now know what will be the main event of Grandslam 17. And what a match that should be! We then get the information that EAM's upcoming PPV, will be the 4th PPV under the CrissCross Collision banner, but not only that. It will be the first time ever that EAM Promotions visits The Sultanate of Brunei! Two big matches are already comfirmed for the event, and Brian and Nigel tells us that Triple C will face off against Brock Lesnar for the first time ever. A match that surely has some big potential to stea the show. But that's also true for the second match already comfirmed for the show, as Angelico will face off against Timothy Thatcher! The Sultan of Brunei asked for a wrestling clinic to be on the show, that might just be that match to be honest. Thatcher is a deeply under-appreciated worker and a great rassler' and Angelico has been around for a long time. He's experienced, and has done really good for himself lately. It's sure gonna be a interesting contest. And for Triple C Vs Brock? Well, that's a dream match many wrestling fans probably didn't ever think they would see. It's gonna be very interesting indeed, to see if this is just another five minute match for Brock, where he dominates, or if Triple C actually will be able to work around that, and actually manage to go a longer match with Brock. It's exciting for sure! And talking about exciting, so much happened in Seattle that if we where to sit here and talk about it, it would easily take all night, so instead of Brian and Nigel doing that, why not kick off the show, and let the aftermath settle itself as we usually do around here, i the ring! Take it away Melissa! But then, music cranks the arena speakers....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDCKYAVMeAU .
Out on the stage, to a big pop from the audience, comes none other than EAM Promotions owner and founder, Emil Alexander Melby. He's dressed in black converse shoes, brown corduroy pants and a vintage " Have a nice day " Mick Foley t-shirt. He makes his way down the ramp and into the ring, where he gestures for a microphone. He's in a pretty good mood. He gestures for everyone in the arena to calm down then, before asking " Aren't you entertained? " He then talks about the Seattle Slobberknocker, and how that match just might be the greatest and most entertaining slobberknocker in EAM history to date. And now we even know the match that will main event Grandslam 17. Another big pop from the audience, as there surely are some WALTER fans in the crowd. Emil then talks about how awesome he thinks this WALTER is, and that he's very honored to have such a young man promoting his company, unlike other people (refering to MJF and tEAM) And speaking of the devil.... music once again crank the arena speakers, cutting the chairman off...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hToyXQ0fB0w . Huge boooos from the audience, as The EAM World Heavywight Champion walks out on the stage together with his entourage. The EAM Championship belt draped over his right shoulder. It's almost like Emil A. expected this, as he's waiting patiently for MJF and his goons to get down to the ring where he is. He actually does some mocking gestures while waiting. Like looking at his watch (even tough everyone knows Emil A. never ever has carried a watch) he also look up at the Grandslam 17 logo up in the rafters. Even yawning a couple of times. MJF and the others eventually makes it into the ring, with the fans still booing loudly. Emil gestures for them to calm down. He hates MJF as much as they do, but this will take even longer if they've gotta wait to hear what The Bozo is gonna say. MJF goes on and on, putting down the chairman right to his face, keeping on the same track as he's been doing for the last months, about not appreciating him or the others for that matter, and how EAM is no better than the companies they used to mock, or still do for that matter. Charlotte then takes over from there, asking how many women they have sacrificed over the last years to Mickie to look like a godess?! Stevens takes over then, and the mocking continues and continues, then with Cornette, and back to MJF eventually, who mocks Emil A. even more, suddenly speaking like adults does to babies. He then turns to his entourage, telling them that he thinks they hurt Emil A.s feelings... As all this goes on Emil A. is still cold as ice. Not taking in any og the mockery at all. It's admirable no doubt. After a while, it seems like MJF and the other have said everything they want to say, and MJF asks Emil if the cat got his tongue or something. Shouldn't the chairman of the " greatest " wrestling company in the world say something? Stand up for himself? Silence....Then Emil A. looks at MJF, and in a very calm voice, he informs MJF that he don't fall for his tricks. Last time he checked, it was his name on the CEO's door, not MJF's. And if any of the members of tEAM thinks that their behaviour wont be punished, they got another thing coming. But as always, Emil A. will be fair with them. He's not going to be doing the punishment, but he will make sure to be ringside when it happens. He's pretty sure MJF's got his own death warrant signed for Grandslam. MJF try to protest, saying he didn't sign anything. But Emil cut's him off, saying " on the contrary " telling MJF, that everyone who signed a contract with EAM Promotions, besides maybe MJF, knows that the contract clearly states, that whoever holds The EAM World Heavyweight Strap at the time of Grandslam, will have to defend it. And that includes you, Maxwell! When it comes to the others, Stevens will be defending his Pride Championship at the upcoming PPV in Brunei, against Mick Foley! And before anyone objects about me being partial when it comes to the booking, Mick asked for this match personally, and Emil A. is not the one to turn down a EAM Hall of Famer when he comes with such a request. And Stevens will be all alone, as neither of you others are going. Oh yeah....Emil A. almost forgot. Mick had another request as well. He wanted the match to be contested under Extreme Rules! He then turns his attention to Charlotte, and tells her that if she's got any problems with his wife, she can take it with her herself, as Mickie is quite capable of standing up for herself without him backing her up. But, if Charlotte really wants to know, she will probably get her assed handed to her by other girls, before she even gets a chance at Mickie. He then thanx everyone for their precious time, throws away the microphone and leaves the ring. Offcourse from major objections from everyone in tEAM, but the chairman does not care. He just walks up the rampway towards the stage and the Gorilla position, without ever looking back... We cut to this shows vignette....
As we get back, Keith Lee and Donovan Dijakovic are already in the ring, making themselves ready for the upcoming tag team match, as music cranks the speakers and their opponents walks out on the stage. These two teams have some history for sure. As we all know, Young bucks was one of the few teams that Lee and Dijakovic got to defeat during their very short tag team title reign. (Nigel informs the fans that these two teams faced each other during the " Jewel In The Crown PPV, where Lee and Dijakovic won. Then again at the last " Saturday Night Showcase " show, where Bucks was the winning team. So tonight is actually their rubber match)
What an opening. Might be the longest in history!. Lot going on and more Emil/MJF feuding. I could see Emil as special guest referee in the main event. Would increase the pressure. Maybe even tease a heel turn by Emil and join MJF. Originally thought about MJF vs Emil last year to main event this Grandslam. Charlotte vs Mickie needs to happen maybe at FFG though so we have a big match for that show and regardless of who wins or loses at Grandslam. Stevens vs Foley makes sense but seems bizarre. Thought Mercer/Wardlow were contenders for that title. More matches confirmed for the next PPV’s also look good. Rubber match up next. Good build for Grandslam main event.
Tag Team Matchup
Keith Lee & Donovan Dijakovic Vs The Young Bucks
Awesome curtain jerker here. Back and forth action. Signature, finishing moves. Double teaming spots. Spirit Bomb, BBC and a tower of doom superplexbomb. Superkick party also but at the end of the match it is a Meltzer Driver but not for the win though because Bucks are looking for a new move!?. BAAAM RUSSO RIDE!. Haha they have a new move…cover…1…2…3…done!. Bucks get the win and it was like a doomsday device springboard superkick move!.
After the match, music cranks the speakers and The Pride Tag Team Champions; Heavy Machinery walks out on the stage. We then get a segment where they are talking about their " Bucket List " and they do reveal which team are next on their by now " infamous list " They then challenge Young Bucks (who's still in the ring) to a match, putting their Pride Tag Team Titles on the line at the upcoming Brawl In Brunei PPV!
Should be awesome. Could be Heavy’s last night as champs.
-----------------------------------------
We get a Backstage segment next with The Steiners, where Rex Steiner hooks up with his dad and uncle backstage, who's still friends, despite having to fight each other in Seattle. Scott is actually pretty proud of Rick. Rex tells his father that he's got some news. He just got informed that they will be working a tag team match at the upcoming PPV, in Brunei! Scott and Rick looks at each other, a bit puzzled, then Rick asks when this happened? Rex explains that he just bumped into the chairman backstage, and he was in such a good mood. Rex told him that he welcomed him to EAM, etc. then he asked what we thought about working a match at the upcoming PPV. Rick sighes, and understand that Rex already said yes, before consulting him. But it's ok, he can easily see that the kid is excited. He then asks Rex who they are gonna face. Rex makes a big grin before saying.... " The Mysterios " We then cut back to the ring....
Should be good. New vs old gen. Scott might not be that happy though.
We go back to the ring where we are about to get a segment with Maculay Culkin, David Arquette & Bruce Campbell. They are talking about how it was to compete in the slobberknocker match, when they get brutally interrupted by a pretty mad Nick Gage. The segment ends pretty abrupt as Gage goes berserk, endiong with Culkin, Arquette and Campbell escaping trough the fans before something bad is gonna happpen... We cut to commercials...
Pretty funny segment actually and a perfect representation of Nick. Would be funny a hardcore turmoil gauntlet or something where Gage fights them all but don’t forget that Bruce is a former hardcore champion and Arquette world champion!.
Singles Matchup
Aleah James Vs Skye Blue
Pretty short but sweet match. Both girls look good but at the end of the match Aleah gets the win. Skye gets some moves in but just not enough. Aleah uses Melina’s moves. To add insult to injury.
We go backstage somewhere where we hook up with Alicia Atout, who are about to interview Danhausen. She asks him what went down in Seattle, as Orange Cassidy so brutally attacked him. Was there any reason for this? Danhausen says he's as puzzled and flabbergasted as Alicia, but maybe, just maybe......maybe he's still mad because Danhausen proved he's a better wrestler than him? You remember Supersplash? Danhausen won! Just like that! Hmmm... Danhausen didn't know this Cassidy fella was so evil....but Danhausen are much more evil..... Danhausen will put a cantrip on Cassidy, a curse if you will. Maybe that will teach him not do upset Danhausen?
Looks like another match. Possibly a stipulation.
Cross-Brand Tag Team Matchup (Non-Title)
Rey Fenix & Will Ospreay Vs Jeff Cobb & Will Hobbs
Another solid match here from both teams with a lot of highflying action and double-team moves Jeff and Will look really good and almost get the win but at the end of the match it is the champions that get the pinfall. They’re definitely future tag champions though. They just need to keep going. Tour of the Islands, F-5000, Essex Destroyer and a tombsault throughout this one. Wonder what a Brock vs Hobbs or Cobb match would look like.
We go backstage where we hook up with The Pride General Manager William Regal, who for some reason are cleaning out his office when someone knocks on his door. Regal sounds a bit irritated as he answers and one of the EAM backstage crew guys pops his head trough the door. He informs Regal that he did not want to disturb him, but it seemed like a message that should be delivered as fast as possible. Regal asks what message, and the guy unrolls a piece of crunched paper from his backpocket, reads then tell Regal that someone has towed away his car from the EAM parking lot. Regal throws away the papers he's currently holding in his hands, scattering them all over. " AGAIN?! " He runs out of the office in high speed. We cut back to the arena....
Hmm strange. No idea what’s going on here. Doing it again.
2-On-1 Handicap Matchup
Shane Mercer & Wardlow Vs Bobby Lashley
Very interesting match here not sure this has ever happened before. I guess it’s because of the slobber knocker this match is happening. Shane and Wardlow look really good and dominant. Bobby comes back with a rolling spear and a full Nelson…Wardlow and Mercer manage to break out of it!. Fallaway powerslam and a Wardlow’s World Bomb for a double pinfall on Lashley…1…2…3!!!. They get it!. Wow huge win here!.
As we get back from commercials we get a strange video next, showing two pairs of legs walking trough a shamrock meadow. Suddenly they stop up, then a hand reaches down and picks up one single shamrock, with 4 leaves. We then see a date on the screen. Indicating something happening, seemingly one month from now... We cut back to the arena for our main event of the evening. Which is a re-match from " Jewel In The Crown "
Ken Shamrock!?. Haha no idea.
Singles Matchup
Goldberg Vs John Cena
Pretty much what everyone expects in a match like this. PPV worthy. AA, SPEAR, FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE, JACKHAMMER. BAAAAM SPEAR AGAIN…1…2…3 DONE!. Goldberg gets the win!.
After the match, Goldberg cut's a promo, putting down WALTER, saying that he might have won The Slobberknocker Match, and are facing MJF for that EAM title at Grandslam. But that will be with one less belt to his waist, as Goldberg challenges WALTER to a match for The BMF Championship at the upcoming PPV. No interference, no shenanigans. Just Goldberg and WALTER, face to face!.
Eye to eye!. One on one!. Big match here. Not sure if it’s the main event though. Wonder if it’s gonna be a 5 minute squash or something else. Maybe MJF will interfere?. Might leverage him if he can help WALTER lose a title. WALTER really likes fighting Jews!.
