^ Well then Goldust is great because if a 5 star match in wrestling doesn't mean anything then neither does Match Of The Year etc. Goldust was in a 5 star match already something Cena has yet to or ever will do. Also, Goldust being weird works for him because he has the mic and ring skills to back him up tenfold, while Boogeyman is garbage. What I was trying to say is that people like reading, watching or hearing about weird things happening or weird people, people are attracted to them. I'm going to use this as an example: everyone loved The Joker's character because he was different. You don't want to believe that different doesn't sell well The Joker proves you wrong. In the end of it all, Goldust has the skills on the mic and in the ring that are better than more than half of the current roster, maybe even 3/4 of the roster. He deserves a main event push more than Cena ever will because Goldust is great in the ring and delivers better promos than Cena ever can and Goldust can carry a company.
PS: The only dumb thing I think WWE is doing is NOT pushing Goldust.

Match of the year/wrestler of the year is simply a matter of opinion. Different magazines and websites give the awards to different people. I could make a website, claim Braden Walker is superstar of the year, then preach it like it's the truth. Would that matter? Of course not. Just because a magazine/website is popular doesn't mean it's right. Of course some people are going to believe it, and others aren't going to believe it. So once again, it's nothing but an opinion of a magazine/website, and unless you believe whatever you read, it doesn't really matter.

5 star matches, are rare...especially in the US.
So, you're saying, that because Cena hasn't been in one, and Dustin Runnels has...that THAT makes him a better wrestler? Now, that alone is just plain dumb logic, then let's add to the fact, that Dustin's 5 star match was a freakin 10 man tag!!!!!!! He was in the match with the likes of Sting, Nikita Koloff, Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton, & Larry Zbyszko. How could that match NOT get a 5 star? Runnells was fodder in that match, so bragging about him being in a 5 star match carried by the other 9 people in it, doesn't make for a valid argument. Now, I'm not even taking away the fact that it was 10 man. Great matches happen whether theres 10 men or only 2 men in the ring. What I'm saying is, getting a 5 star match with lesser talent is MUCH more impressive. That means you carried yourself AND your opponents/teammates to heights never seen before. In this case, Runnells was just a filler in tag partner, not much to brag about there.

The match of the year award was voted upon by wrestling viewers, not dictated by a magazine. On top of that, to say that because Goldust was in a 5 star match (a 10-man tag match SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO by the way) means he is a better wrestler than Cena, who was in the match of the year LAST YEAR (oh, and lets not forget, that last week Cena had another match with HBK that rivaled the hour long one...), is ridiculous. You can say that the awards don't mean anything, but one thing they damn well mean is that the majority of wrestling fans think that Cena is a good wrestler, good enough to win Wrestler of the year and Match of the year.
Goldust may have one day had the skills, but he no longer does. He past his prime, and his "prime" wasn't even noticeable when it was here. He never had the drive to become champion. Cena has given his entire life to the WWE nonstop since signing. You may not like it, but he's put in the effort and he has the skills to get where he is today. You can say Goldust is better in the ring, but that is proved wrong to anyone who watches without predetermined bias that Cena will suck. You can say that Goldust is better on the mic, but having a semi-rhyming infomercial of what christmas presents is not better than Cena's promo hyping up his HBK match last week.
Nothing I said here really matters though, since you will ignore it, say Cena sucks and can't wrestle even though he proves that wrong, say he's boring even though the majority of wrestling fans strongly disagree with you, and then you'll say that Goldust is better cause he's been in a five star match that included 9 other wrestlers (all hall-of-fame caliber mind you) 17 years ago, even though Cena was in an hour long one-on-one match that won match of the year and I believe got 4 and a half stars if I remember correctly.

^ Everyone in this thread agreed on one thing except you and that's that Cena is garbage:shifty: Anyway you clearly didn't realize that I was talking about the old Goldust and not the comedy version that they have now. Goldust's character, mic skills and wrestling abilities are by far better than Cena's even now, "past his prime" and Cena's last match with HBK was not that good. Oh and have you ever heard of "carrying the match"? Because that's what HBK had to do everytime he faced against Cena. In the end of it all, Goldust is truly better than Cena ever will be but because Vince likes him, Cena got what Goldust should have had a long time ago.

Eh, one thing I disagree about you with Cena there Eel is the carrying the match...His moveset may be limited...but Cena is one of the best today..and maybe of all time when it comes to carrying matches...he actually made the match with him vs Khali watchable....that's saying something..same with Umaga....another man who can't wrestle for shit and yet had great matches with Cena because Cena carried them. One thing you can't take away from him despite everything else is his ability to carry matches.

Eel, you and one other person have been saying Cena is garbage, the others have been saying they don't like him but he isn't a horrible wrestler. You are starting to sound like a little kid crying. "But I don't like Cena, so no one does! more goldust! What, you refuted my last goldust fact? I was talking about old goldust, duh, didn't get that?" This isn't a game of "I win", you can't just change what you've been saying, so you still win no matter what. If you wanna say Goldust's old character was better, then I can say Cena's old character, that was loved by EVERYONE, was better and we are back to the same argument. Cena may not do millions of moves in his matches, but if you are going to attack him, know the basics and not all of the slander.
1. The "five moves of doom" was named that because of his finishing sequence (jumping shoulder block, something else, the from behind move, five knuckle shuffle, FU). It was not for how many moves he knew total. To imply he only knows five moves period shows that you actually are talking out of your ass and have no clue about anything.
2. Cena often carries matches, and a good Cena match does not mean he was carried. He had a good match with HBK, doesn't mean he was carried. You said that the last one wasn't that good, that's your own personal opinion, and you are entitled to it, but everyone else has raved about the match, so don't state it as fact. Cena has carried matches with a lot of people who have been awful wrestlers. Who thought Khali could have an entertaining match before that falls count anywhere? Who thought JBL could still pull a good match out before that Parking lot brawl?
3. Because the Internet wrestling community doesn't like Cena does not mean that the wrestling community doesn't like Cena. In fact, the majority of wrestlers that the IWC idolizes all admit that Cena is completely deserving of being where he is today. He sells more merchandise than pretty much anyone ever, and this is during a time when viewership isn't all to high, so obviously he is popular. Just because you and the handful of people using this website don't like him doesn't mean that he is unlikeable. That means that you don't like him, and if anyone who likes him come on, you all act like such douches to that person they eventually stop coming to the site out of annoyance and you all continue to say no one on the site likes him. Trust me, I know, I'm a Cena fan.
4. Cena has given his all to the company non-stop since signing. Goldust is in his fifth WWE run, after four failed runs in WWE and two failed runs in TNA. Cena was elevated to world champion, while neither company would give Goldust anything credible. What does this tell you? That Goldust is obviously better than Cena and deserves to be pushed, or that the two top companies in wrestling today have decided SIX TIMES that Goldust was not talented enough to keep.
