wothout a doubt,it has to be the 4 HORSEMEN,any and all incarnations.They were the originators of the faction,and its like the old saying goes...often imitated,BUT NEVER DUPLICATED!!
After that I'd have to say the original DX(not this "goody-goody" be it ever so humble version),then Evolution and the nWo(its the only time I ever liked Hogan!)
Hands down, my favorite always has & always will be Degeneration X, especially the 2006 reformation w/ Shawn & Triple H.
