WWE has filed a trademark application for a GTA-related term after Lola Vice‘s NXT farewell.
On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, WWE filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to trademark the term “Vice City.” The office has accepted the application, which is awaiting assignment to an examining attorney.
“IC 041: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment,” the description of WWE’s application read.
Fans believe the term hints at the WWE main roster call-up of former NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice. Vice City is the fictional GTA location based on Miami, Florida, which is the 28-year-old star’s hometown. It made people believe the trademark is a nod to her roots in the city. She is of Cuban heritage.
Lola Vice challenged Kendal Grey for the NXT Women’s Championship on this week’s episode. The match happened under NXT Underground rules, and Vice walked into the bout with a perfect record. However, the reigning champion picked up the win, ending her opponent’s streak.
However, what happened after the match caught the fans’ attention. Lola Vice thanked everyone in the WWE Performance Center and left her gloves inside the ring. Her real-life boyfriend Damian Priest made a surprise appearance and embraced her before she delivered a speech.
Fans believe Lola Vice’s actions hinted at a WWE main roster call-up. Recent reports also indicated that the promotion is planning to bring her up to SmackDown. It will be interesting to see if she debuts on the blue brand in the coming days.
