Chelsea's chief goalkeeping target can be revealed as Nacional's Hilario.
Sources in Portugal have confirmed that the 30-year-old, who played under Jose Mourinho at Porto, is the man the Chelsea boss wants to become third-choice at Stamford Bridge.
Earlier reports had indicated that Portugal World Cup squad member Quim was the priority for Mourinho, but it is understood that a Bosman move has been set up for Hilario, as he is out of contract with the Madeiran club.
A two-year deal is awaiting the experienced shot-stopper and he will compete with Petr Cech and Carlo Cudicini for the goalkeeping jersey.
Mourinho has already signed Michael Ballack from Bayern Munich and is busy reshaping a squad that can win the Premiership title for the third season in succession.
"I can hardly believe it," Hilario told O Jogo.
"But it's still to be confirmed, otherwise I would be talking about it.
"I don't have the words to explain what a pleasure it would be to work with Mr Mourinho again."
