John Terry admits he is already looking forward to the prospect of playing alongside Michael Ballack.

Chelsea have already been busy in the transfer market in bringing in Germany's captain and having previously played against him, Terry knows all about the graceful midfielder.

The two have locked horns in the past and Terry admits that he once had a tunnel spat with the former Bayern Munich schemer.

Terry, though, is keen to put past bygones aside as he looks forward to the new campaign and playing in the same team as a former sparring partner.

''Obviously he's a great player and I've played against him a few times a couple of years ago,'' Terry told Sky Sports News.

''I'm looking forward to playing alongside him, he's a massive player, you just have to look at his goal record for Germany and Bayern Munich.

''He scores great goals, similar to (Frank) Lampard. He's looking forward to playing with him too.

''We did once have a little square up in the tunnel, myself, him and Oliver Kahn.

''That's what football is all about in the tunnel before a game and I'm excited about him coming to Chelsea and it's looking good for us.''

Meanwhile, Terry has also paid tribute to England new boys Theo Walcott and Aaron Lennon, of the opinion that the duo can make a real impression in Germany.

''I think they can make a massive difference with their pace,'' he continued.

''They have great raw pace to come on, and the ability is obviously there. They can be very exciting for England's fans and for everyone to watch.''

England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has also spoken in glowing terms about the starlets, who have clearly taken the public's imagination.

''In the last 15-20 minutes of games, if you're trailing, someone like Aaron or Theo comes on and with their pace they can run at defences and create a couple of chances.

''They get the crowd lifted and bring the game to a whole new level, so it's good to have them.''
