WWE dropping the ball again?

Words can't describe how much I was looking forward to MVP vs CM Punk on ECW tonight. So, I sit through a decent tag match followed by a bunch of crap segments and fights until, 10 minutes before ECW is supposed to be over (not including the overrun time), they come back from commercial to an already started fight.

This is how the fight went: MVP owns punk, punk hits him twice, MVP owns punk, punk hits him once, MVP owns punk, MVP gets DQ'd. Chavo comes in and hurts punk.


What the hell, WWE. This was by far the worst thing I have seen on ECW in a long time, and it included two great wrestlers and another decent one. How do you screw that up??

^ OK, uh I'm not sure if you can talk about ECW that happened tonight.... But I'll respond like this(includes spoilers duh):

I found the end with Chavo interesting, as maybe Chavo is going ECW Championship gold? I too was hoping the match with MVP and Punk was going to go as I thought it would be, which was gold, but instead it was :eek:. I suppose we'll see where this will take us next week:dunno: I honestly do not know what WWE is doing anymore sometimes...

Yeah, but, for once the two of us agree. That entire segement was worse then the return of crazy-vince. At least then we got good Jeff Hardy and Triple H promos during that...

That on paper sounds like an awesome match as I am big fans of Punk & MVP. I didn't get a chance to watch that match yet, (it's on my Tivo), but from the way tommy described it I'm not sure I want to. Sounds pretty similar to what TNA had been doing recently with the run-ins and such.

^ I Know it feels weird:eek: Well, Kellie said she guessed we could talk about ECW freely so... for weeks now I have found that ECW had gone to the dogs, it wasn't the product I was actually excited to watch like RAW and SD! Before(when Edge was gone) I rarely even glimpsed SD! and paid most attention to RAW and full attention to ECW, I made sure to watch it. After seeing tonight's monstrosity they called a "main event" I don't plan on watching ECW again in a while. Two wrestlers that I know can put on great matches put on :sick: WWE is definitely dropping the ball again, sometimes I wish TNA would pick up a lot and get like a 2 or 3 rating and get on a more popular network just to make WWE actually want to do stuff right...

Here is one area where we won't argue, Eel. I usually love ECW, and CM Punk is hands down my favorite wrestler around right now. Well...Jeff Hardy has been up there too for me. Week after week, seeing Punk get beaten down is getting annoying. The ECW champ should be able to beat the United States Champ. Also, why won't they give Punk a mic? We all know he's got the promo skills, and they let Morrison talk every week as the champ. MVP on his first night gets to cut a promo. Even Shelton Benjamin, who is beyond bad at promos, is getting a chance. Over on RAW, Jeff Hardy is finally getting a chance. But, the one person who has cut hundreds of great promos in ROH is being forced to come out and job, even though he has a title, to the likes of Mark Henry, Big Daddy V, and now Chavo Guerrero.

^ Totally agree. I have seen a few videos of Punk's promos on ROH and they were awesome. I mean I find it good that they're letting new guys get a chance on the mic(Morrison, Benjamin etc) but Punk is the ECW CHAMPION. The champion is supposed to talk at least once a night on their show! I dunno what WWE is doing with CM Punk Also, I see no point in trying to push Mark Henry and Big Daddy V when they've been in WWE for at least a decade and never got pushed and are clearly never going to be main event/world championship material where the one guy in WWE who would be a great world champion cannot talk and jobs to people who bore everone also just confuses me... WWE has to honestly think over what they're doing and who to push. If they are going to do the "giant" acts on people, let them feud with mid-carders and NOT come into the main event scene/ upper card unless they are as good as Undertaker/Kane/Big Show etc.

Maybe they should turn Punk heel again and then he'll get more mic time. He cut some great promos in ROH as a heel and I'm sure he can translate those into WWE if given the chance.

^ That'd be horrible unless they turn a lot of others face. All possible contenders for the ECW Championship are heel: John Morrison, The Miz, Elijah Burke, Shelton Benjamin and Kevin Thorn are all heel, even if you counted Big Daddy V, he's heel too. They need more faces on ECW IMO and get Punk out of there.
