Just hours after seemingly discussing brother Jeff Hardy's impending WWE departure, Matt Hardy changed his tune in a new Twitter post.
"Jeff & I might not team again due to pursuing singles careers," wrote Hardy, in reference to his comment that Friday's SmackDown! match might have been the duo's last bout as a team. "And Jeff will be with WWE after Summerslam."
Despite Matt Hardy's comment, the universal word within the industry is that Jeff Hardy will indeed be embarking on a hiatus; he is set to wrap his current WWE run at either Summerslam or this coming week's television tapings.
An explanation behind Matt Hardy's post is not yet available, but a Wrestling Observer Newsletter report recently said that Jeff Hardy has assured colleagues of plans to return in 2010. Between the expected return and the possibility of Hardy appearing on television next week, there are ways Jeff Hardy can "be with WWE after Summerslam" and still be gearing for a hiatus.
