Thumbs up Lance Storm blasts TNA's unprotected chair shots

The following is an excerpt from StormWrestling.com:

    TNA: I'm Done
    By Lance Strom

Well folks I’m done. I’m not going to rant, I’m not going to tell you all the things I hated about Impact this week, because none of it matters, I’m just done; I’m done watching Impact for good. I’ve stopped watching before just for my own sanity and peace of mind, but each of those times I intended it to be a temporary break. This time I’m not planning on coming back and checking to see if things have gotten better after a while, I’m washing my hands of the whole thing; I’m done.

The straw that broke the camels back for me was the unprotected chair shot to the head of Rob Terry by Homicide. Yes they have done chair shots to the head before, and they bothered me then too, but this one was different; this unprotected chair shot to the head came just 2 days after Chris Kanyon’s suicide death and I just couldn’t stomach it. I know there will be defenders out there that will want to argue that Chris Kanyon’s depression that led to his suicide has not been determined to as a result of concussions he suffered due to chair shots to the head, but that is just a cop out, in my opinion.

Maybe Lance Storm should watch WWE instead They have PG-Rating and no chairshots now...

Anyway, I don't think anyone really bothers what Storm says anyway

    Thanx for posting Konan!

I agree that the wrestlers should be protected as much as possible in a business where they put their lives on the line, but in the end it should be up to the individuals to determine just how far they want to go in their matches. They make the choice to wager their health to put on a performance for their fans, therefore they should decide if they want to put a chair shot 'over the top' by taking it to the head with no protection. Yes, injuries may result, but why should critics or bosses or anyone else determine how a man wrestles his matches? Athletes determine the risks they take, these wrestlers are no different.

For that matter, if taking chair shots are so dangerous all-of-a-sudden, why don't we see a change in the materials in the chairs? We already see aluminum trash cans that crumple easily, why aren't the chairs changed to crumple easier without as much impact to the person taking the shot? I just don't see why they insist on using actual metal folding chairs when they special order ladders that break on impact, trash cans that smash without much force, and tables that break easier than real ones. Just make the change, and I'm sure they can pull off the switch without the fans realizing the change. The difference will make the wrester's taking shots more impressive, while protecting them at the same time. If they care so much about protecting wrestlers, I don't see why they aren't taking the same precautions with chairs as they do with most of the other props.

id bet some serious cash that they asked Rob 1st and he was cool with it. Its kind of hard to force some1 to get blasted in the face with a chair on TV unless theyre cool with it. Btw, wtf is Lance Storm? never heard of him till i read this post

Lance Storm is bitter and pathetic. As for the unprotected shot I am sure they'd asked Terry before doing this I mean there was that shot on Jesse Neal by Hernandez and we all know Neal took a lot of heat for that so yeah get your facts right idiot

If Kenpachi used his Bankai, Armageddon, Ragnarok, and every other form of the apocalypse would march from the depths of hell with their demonic legions of death.... then take one look at him and turn tail and run.

Does anyone actually care about what Lance Storm has to say these days anyway?

Personally, I think he's just bitter cause his career was over a long time ago.

No one gives a sh*t about Lance Storms b!tching. He's just a bitter TNA hater that bashes them even when they clearly have a better show than Raw. He just needs to stfu. If you don't like TNA don't watch it and stop bashing it.

Anyone with half a brain should care what he says, he had a great career outside WWE and WCW and was an excellent worker that everyone in the industry both liked and respected. He's a stand up guy and if he says something is terribly wrong, more often than not it is. If you want to see guys get cracked in the head with real chairs, taking it hard way then you really don't care about the people you're watching and tbh aren't a real wrestling fan. Storm's thoughts and opinions were pretty much echoed by Jim Ross, another well respected man in the business.
