Breaking: 'Paranormal Activity 3' Gets 2011 Release Date!

We have received exclusive confirmation from producer Oren Peli (also director of the first film) that Paramount Pictures has locked down an October 21, 2011 release date for Paranormal Activity 3. No other details are available at this time. The Tod Williams-directed prequel/sequel Paranormal Activity 2 has grossed $156m worldwide. Peli's groundbreaking 2009 film has topped $193m. I thought the first one was great. Simple but very well-executed. I really don't think one sequel is necessary, let alone two or more. I expect it to turn out like the Blair Witch did with the awful sequel that movie had.
