Default Should Injured John Cena Be Forced to Relinquish the WWE Title?

According to WWE.com, John Cena is officially injured and it is not an injury that somebody just bounces back from.

Cena injured his right Achilles tendon, but to what extent has not been revealed. Jim Ross recently noted that Cena has been dealing with the injury for some time.

If the injury is severe enough to require more than a few weeks off, then Cena may be forced to vacate the WWE title and a new program will need to be constructed for Extreme Rules.

For those who do not know, the Achilles tendon is located in the back of the leg, running from the heel to the calf muscle. It is one of, if not the most important tendon in a person's leg.

A minor injury to this tendon can result in serious pain while a major tear can mean surgery and months, possibly years, of rehab.

As someone who has witnessed a person completely tear their Achilles tendon off the bone at a Martial Arts tournament, I can tell you that it was no picnic. He would later recall to me that the feeling was like "My foot being ripped off from the inside out."

Cena's injury is likely not a full tear, but even if he does only need a few weeks off, he may want to take this opportunity to substantially heal his body.

Cena tours all year, working live events, TV, pay-per-views and countless charity and press events. The man could use a rest.

Vacating the title and either naming a second No. 1 contender to face Ryback or holding some kind of tournament might be the best option WWE has at this point.

It gives Cena to opportunity to rest his injuries and it also freshens up the title picture again.

If Cena's injury requires a lot of time off, then there is really no other alternative. Raw will be where we find out what will happen.

Cena has been confirmed for an appearance and how he walks to the ring could be a quick indicator of where things are heading.

He just won back the title that he hadn't held for over a year, and now he could be forced to give it up without even losing a match.

With CM Punk out for the time being, it will be very interesting to see what WWE decides to do in this situation.

What do you think should happen? Should WWE take the title off Cena or should it have him hold on to it if the injury will not keep him out that long?

Yes...one should not fuck with Achilles-injuries, they can cause a long recovery time and/or no complete recovery which affects his mobility for the rest of his life
