Angry NWO Members "Frustrated" with WWE Changing Iconic Logo

Members of the New World Order are said to be frustrated with WWE over a slight edit to the group's iconic logo.

The NWO debuted in WCW in 1996 and originally consisted of Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall. The group would pioneer the concept of the 'cool heel' and their influence in the wrestling industry continues to be felt to this day. The group would expand exponentially in the subsequent years and at one time would make up the majority of the WCW roster. Following the promotion's collapse in 2001, the NWO debuted in WWE in 2002 and has made appearances for the promotion in the years since.

While the iconic NWO shirt is available, the shirt fans receive is slightly different to what countless members wore during the group's heyday. As Will Washington found out when he ordered an NWO Wolfpac shirt, the design now comes with a small WWE logo beneath the design, which was not featured on the promotional image for the shirt.

Fightful Select reports that the shirt, created by Fanatics, has left several members of the faction "frustrated." The belief is that the addition of the WWE logo undermines the counter-culture spirit of the faction. Fanatics have been made aware of these grievances. There have been considerations made in removing the WWE logo from the shirt, but Fightful is yet to hear an update.

Fightful adds that a WWE Superstar contacted them after Washington posted the photo and said they have had issues with t-shirt designs going back years. Specifically, there was a point of frustration with WWE including the “authentic wear” tag at the bottom of the shirt, and also insisting that many of the shirts have text on the back. The talent recalled numerous wrestlers not liking the text on the back and believing that it negatively affected sales.
