The two-time former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima apologized to CM Punk after hitting the latter with an elbow drop that landed a little low.
'The Second City Saviour' squared off against Kojima in the first round of the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door.
The Japanese legend’s strong-style offense helped get the crowd behind him as he took the fight to Punk. However, in the end, a GTS was enough for Punk to pick up the win over the veteran star in a match that went on for 15 minutes.
During the match, Satoshi Kojima delivered a diving elbow rope to Punk from the top rope. The elbow drop may have gone a little wayward however as Kojima landed on what Taz might call “yam bag Jones.”
Satoshi Kojima apologizes to CM Punk
Taking to social media Kojima was a bit more direct about where he landed as he offered an apology to his opponent:
“My elbow drop hit his cock. sorry. But it’s not on purpose. Accident. Because I don’t have that kind of technology.”
In another Tweet, he wrote:
Please don't call me an 「elbow-cock-drop」
It's just an elbow drop.
😢💪💔。

This marked Satoshi Kojima's second match with AEW, as he also lost to Jon Moxley at All Out in September 2021. Meanwhile, CM Punk will now face either Roderick Strong or Samoa Joe in the semi-finals of the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
