Angry WWE Talent Reportedly Frustrated With Timing Of Roster Cuts

The WWE roster is reportedly frustrated with the timing of the roster cuts that have started to take place on Thursday morning.

Fightful Select is reporting that talent in WWE was frustrated with the company announcing a $1.4 billion television deal for Smackdown and then cutting talent hours later. The report reveals that a top star in the company said that most of the cut list "barely had a chance considering they weren't booked, and called it a circle that couldn't be escaped." The report also indicates that cuts are expected to take place at the WWE Performance Center and that many talent thought the days of cuts were behind them as WWE recently has simply let contracts expire.

WWE has cut the following talent as of Thursday morning:

    • Dolph Ziggler
    • Shelton Benjamin
    • Aliyah
    • Riddick Moss
    • Emma
    • Rick Boogs
    • Elias
    • Mustafa Ali

On Thursday morning, WWE announced that they had signed a deal with NBCUniversal for the rights to Smackdown beginning in October of 2024. The deal is reportedly worth $1.4 billion dollars. There are conflicting reports concerning Monday Night Raw and it's future now that Smackdown is heading to the USA Network. The show reportedly has many suitors, but could also stay with the NBCU family.
