French judoka superstar Teddy Riner has produced one of the wildest moments out of the Paris Olympics.

Competing in the quarterfinals of the mixed team event, the French star walked to the centre of the mat with South Korea electing to send out Lee Joon-hwan.

The issue here, Riner stands at a monstrous 204cm tall and tips the scales at 141.5kg … Joon-hwan stands at 175cm tall and weighs in at 83kg.

As you can expect the result was clear cut, Riner dominated his opponent and claimed victory after 94 seconds.

As one account on X pointed out, the battle resembled an older brother taking on his younger brother with Riner ragdolling his rival.

Images of the contest quickly whipped around social media with fans in disbelief over how the two were pitted against one another.

In the mixed team event, each side is comprised of three male and three female judokas which are divided into three categories instead of the usual six.

This means judokas can compete against opponents they wouldn’t normally take on … as we saw when Riner lined up opposite Joon-hwan.

France ultimately advanced all the way through to the mixed team final where they took on Japan.

What unfolded was one of the “greatest finals ever seen” as Riner put his country on his back to carry them to the gold.

After it was locked up at 3-3, a decisive contest was required with Riner pitted against Tatsuru Saito.

Riner proved too good as he defeated Tatsuru Saito to secure his second gold medal in Paris.
