Trick Williams and Joe Hendry sign TNA World Title Match contract

TNA World Champion Joe Hendry and No. 1 Contender Trick Williams will put pen to paper in a can’t-miss contract signing. Williams and Hendry have been at odds since the TNA World Champion returned to NXT, and with NXT General Manager Ava and TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella in agreement, the two will clash at Battleground.

– We are live! The show kicks off with a video recapping the events of last week's 25 Man NXT Championship Number One Contenders Battle Royal. Vic Joseph, Booker T, and Corey Graves then greet audiences at home as No Quarter Catch Crew makes their way down to the ring.

Borne says last week, he shocked the world when he became the last man standing against some of the toughest men out there. He says he's partially deaf, but last week, when he eliminated Ethan Page and Shawn Spears, he still heard the fans going crazy. He says he wants to be known by his abilities rather than his disability, and says he will become his new NXT Champion.

Ethan Page's music hits, and he makes his way out. He says Borne won the 25 Man NXT Championship Number One Contenders Battle Royal on a fluke last week, then says Borne can't beat Oba Femi for the NXT Championship. He challenges Borne to put his Number One Contendership on the line against him tonight, and Charlie Dempsey encourages Page to accept the match. Borne accepts the challenge, but Ava makes her way to the ring to make the match official.

– Oba Femi's music hits, and he makes his way out.

Oba Femi vs. Charlie Dempsey (w/ No Quarter Catch Crew)

The bell rings and Femi delivers a mat return to Dempsey. He runs over Dempsey with a shoulder tackle, but Dempsey lands a kick on Femi's thigh and the two continue going back and forth. Dempsey rolls up Femi, but Femi kicks out and levels Dempsey with a boot.

Dempsey wears down Femi with a Triangle hold, but Femi escapes and levels Dempsey with a back body drop. Dempsey delivers a German suplex to Femi, but Femi sends Dempsey crashing into the mat with a Sidewalk Slam and sends him crashing into the mat with a powerbomb for the win.

Winner: Oba Femi

– We head backstage, where Thea Hail and Karmen Petrovic run into Tatum Paxley in the middle of a freakout now that Gigi Dolin and Shotzi have left her side.

– Tony D'Angelo then makes his way to the ring. Wes Lee, Tyson DuPont, and Tyriek Igwe follow.

Wes Lee (w/ Tyson DuPont and Tyriek Igwe) vs. Tony D'Angelo

The bell rings and the two lock up. They take turns locking in submission holds on one another, but D'Angelo fires off right hands on Lee's midsection. Igwe looks to interfere, but D'Angelo fights him off and sends Lee crashing into Igwe and DuPont on the outside. DuPont and Igwe catch Lee, but D'Angelo levels all three men with a crossbody off the apron.

Lee flies out of the other side of the ring with a tope suicida to take down D'Angelo, then fires off stomps on him and dumps him back inside the ring. Lee lands a splash off the top rope back inside the ring and goes for a pin, but D'Angelo kicks out. D'Angelo then sends Lee crashing into the mat, but Lee connects with a Kardiak Kick on D'Angelo.

D'Angelo avoids it, but becomes distracted when Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo appears on the Titan Tron and declares that he's outside of Adriana Rizzo's safehouse. This opens the door for Lee to deliver the Kardiak Kick to D'Angelo for the win.

Winner: Wes Lee

– Stephanie Vaquer then makes her way down to the ring.

– Vaquer says she has respect for Jordynne Grace, and says she wants to ascend to the top of NXT.

Fatal Influence's music hits, and Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley make their way out. Henley says Vaquer has been on top since arriving in NXT and is truly one of a kind, but that will make her downfall more sweeter. Jayne adds that since Vaquer pinned Henley to become the Women's North American Championship, but Henley becomes slightly offended and Jayne says her point is that NXT is Fatal Influence's domain.

Grace's music hits, and she makes her way out. Grace says that Henley and Jayne get in each other's way, and questions how they can work together to win the NXT Women's Championship. Jayne says herself and Henley deserve to be on top of the women's division of NXT, but Grace interrupts her and says she won't fail again. Jayne then puts both women on notice, and says that Fatal Influence is coming for the NXT Women's Championship.

– Myles Borne then makes his way to the ring. Ethan Page follows.

Number One Contenders Match for the NXT Championship: Myles Borne vs. Ethan Page

The bell rings and the two lock up. Borne connects with an arm drag on Page, and the two take turns locking in submissions on one another. Page cinches in a Boston Crab on Borne, but Borne crawls over to the bottom rope to break the hold. Page then delivers a superplex to Borne off the top rope before rocking Borne with a boot to the side of his head. He sets up for Ego's Edge, but Borne escapes and connects with a dropkick for the win.

Winner: Myles Borne

– Thea Hail then makes her way out to the ring.

– Back from the break, we head over to a video of Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo attacking Tony D'Angelo with a crow bar outside of Adriana Rizzo's safehouse before telling him he will finish him once and for all at Battleground.

– Back at ringside, Tatum Paxley makes her way down to the ring.

Thea Hail vs. Tatum Paxley

The bell rings and the two go back and forth. Hail delivers a standing moonsault to Paxley, then wears him down with an arm submission. We see Jaida Parker watching the action from backstage as Hail rolls up Paxley. Paxley sends Hail crashing into the mat, but Hail begins targeting Paxley's arm and fires off chops on her chest. Hail cinches in a Kimura Lock on Paxley, but Paxley brawls over to the bottom rope to break the hold. Paxley rakes Hail's eye repeatedly, causing the disqualification.

Winner: Thea Hail (via disqualification)

– After the match, several officials run down to the ring to pry Paxley off of Hail.

– We then head backstage, where Ava, Joe Hendry, and Trick Williams make the Battleground match between the latter two men official.

– Back at ringside, Fatal Influence make their way out. Jordynne Grace and Stephanie Vaquer follow.

Stephanie Vaquer and Jordynne Grace vs. Fatal Influence

Grace and Fallon Henley begin the action. The bell rings and the two go back and forth. Vaquer and Jacy Jayne tag in, and Vaquer wears down Jayne. Henley makes the blind tag in, and Vaquer looks to tag out to Grace. Jayne pulls Grace off the apron and lands a senton on her off the apron, and Henley delivers a crossbody off the middle rope to Grace and Vaquer to level them on the outside.

Jayne fires off stomps on Vaquer in the ring and tags Henley back in. Henley fires off right hands on Vaquer's midsection, then levels her with a shoulder tackle. Grace tags in and fires off strikes on Henley in the corner. She delivers a spinebuster to Jayne and a Death Valley Driver to Jayne, then rocks Henley with a forearm. Fatal Influence looks to land a double running knee on Vaquer, but Grace pushes Vaquer out of the way and takes the move instead, wanting Vaquer to be her best for Battleground. Grace follows it up with the Grace Driver for the win.

Winners: Stephanie Vaquer and Jordynne Grace

– After the match, we head backstage and see Ethan Page standing over Ricky Starks haven taken him out. Back in the ring, Vaquer and Grace stare each other down as Vaquer holds up the NXT Women's Championship and the show goes off the air.
