Angry WWE NXT Live Coverage - September 16th, 2025

Rhea Ripley, Lyra Valkyria and Stephanie Vaquer team up to battle Fatal Influence

Six-Woman Tag Team action pits Rhea Ripley, Lyra Valkyria and Stephanie Vaquer against NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx. Can Fatal Influence escape with a win, or will the super team of former NXT Women’s Champions prevail?

    – The show kicks off with a video showcasing the storied history of black and gold "NXT" at Full Sail University.

    – Triple H opens NXT Homecoming and says it feels good to come home. Trips says NXT, Full Sail and this building is special - and every single person who was a part of NXT when it was at Full Sail is special. Trips says the NXT Universe took something that was a whisper and turned it into a roar. He thanks the NXT Universe and Shawn Michaels' music hits and he makes his way out to join Triple H in the ring. Michaels says he's thrilled to have Triple H at Homecoming and that he and his NXT superstars are ready to steer this ship into the future. Trips says they're knocking it out of the park and lighting the world on fire but what if he tells Michaels he wants to come back and take over NXT. Michaels says then they'd have a very big problem. William Regal's music plays and Regal makes his way out and stands by the video board. Regal says there is only one way to settle this: War Games. Charlotte Flair's music plays and she comes out with a microphone, and then Alexa Bliss' music hits and she comes out with a microphone. Flair says the women changed the landscape and that the women's revolution was started here. Flair talks about the four horsewomen, Paige, Asuka, Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Iyo Sky, Rhea Ripley, Ember Moon, Shayna Baszler and that the women are the backbone of NXT.

    – We see Shawn Spears and Niko Vance walk with Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley who are on their way to their match. Lyra Valkyria comes up to Paxley and Paxley gets all excited to see her friend.

    – Bliss and Flair then make their way into the ring for their upcoming title match, with The Culling following them.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss (c) vs. The Culling (w/Niko Vance & Shawn Spears)

Bliss and Tatum Paxley begin the action. The bell rings and Bliss holds her Lily doll as Paxley holds her Izzi Dame doll. They hand off their dolls to their respective tag team partners and lock up, but Bliss lands a crossbody on Paxley off the middle rope and sets up for Sister Abigail. Paxley avoids it.

Flair and Dame tag in, and Flair delivers a kick to Dame in the corner before sending her crashing out of the ring. During the commercial break, Flair locks back up with Dame in the ring and runs her over with a shoulder tackle. She steps over her, then lands a kick on her head, but Dame whips Flair into the corner shoulder first.

Paxley tags in and fires off stomps on Flair in the corner, then tags in Dame. Dame follows suit, then tags Paxley back in. Paxley and Dame double team on Flair in the corner before Dame tags in and levels Flair with a clothesline. Back from the break, Paxley sends Flair's head bouncing off her knee and tags in Dame. Flair delivers a kick to Dame, then fires off alternating chops on both her and Paxley.

Dame and Flair run over one another with boots, but Paxley and Bliss tag in. Bliss runs over Paxley with a shotgun dropkick, then sets up for Twisted Bliss. She levels Dame with a kick on the apron as Flair takes out Vance on the other side of the ring. Bliss then sets up for Twisted Bliss, but Paxley gets her knees up and rolls up Bliss with her feet on the ropes. Bliss kicks out.

Paxley sets up for a 450 Splash on Bliss, but Bliss manages to avoids it and connects with Sister Abigail for the win.

Winners and STILL WWE Women's Tag Team Champions: Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair

    – We then head backstage, where Lainey Reid and Candice LeRae both approach Sol Ruca and Zaria in the midst of a disagreement to put her on notice for her WWE Speed Women's Championship. Shayna Baszler appears and dismisses Reid and LeRae, then offers Ruca and Zaria some advice about being a tag team.

    – Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams then make their way to the ring as Vic Joseph notes the posts from various TNA Wrestling stars on X expressing their discontent with not being invited to tonight's show. #DIY follows.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams vs. #DIY

Johnny Gargano and Hayes begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. They go back and forth with one another, but Hayes tags in Williams as Tommaso Ciampa tags in on his side. Gargano flies through the middle rope to level Williams on the outside, and Ciampa dumps Wililams back inside the ring.

Hayes tags in and delivers Fade Away to Ciampa before Williams tags back in and delivers chops to Ciampa on the outside. He gets him back inside the ring once again during the commercial break.

Back from the break, Gargano tags in and levels both Hayes and Williams. He delivers a spear to Hayes through the middle rope off the entrance ramp and goes for a pin, but Hayes kicks out. Ciampa and Williams tag in, and Williams delivers a pop-up uppercut to Hayes. He sets up for Trick Shot, but Hayes tags in and delivers The First 48 to Ciampa. An angry Williams looks to clock Hayes from behind, but ultimately ends up levelling Gargano instead with a flying clothesline. Ciampa then delivers a powerbomb to Hayes and pins him, but Hayes kicks out.

Williams grabs the TNA World Championship, but the referee sees it and disposes of it. CIampa looks to pin Williams, but the referee misses the count. #DIY sets up for Meeting In The Middle, but Hayes pushes Williams out of the way. #DIY then delivers Shatter Machine to Hayes.

The Miz delivers a Skull Crushing Finale to Gargano on the outside, opening the door for Hayes to deliver Nothing But Net to him for the win.

Winners: Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams

    – The Miz celebrates with Williams and Hayes after the match.

    – We see Tyler Breeze posing in the mirror as he gets ready to take on Ethan Page for his North American Championship.

    – Kelly Kincade talks to Sami Zayn backstage. Zayn says how being here makes him emotional and he's excited to see some NXT standouts. Zayn says he sees a lot of himself in Je'Von Evans. Josh Briggs pops by and gets in Zayn's face and Evans runs in and fights with Briggs. Briggs is taken away and Zayn tells Evans that for guys like them it's not easy but the sky is the limit. He shakes Evans' hand and leaves.

    – Tyler Breeze makes his way to the ring. Ethan Page follows, and El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. is spotted in the crowd.

NXT North American Championship Match: Ethan Page (c) vs. Tyler Breeze

The bell rings and the two lock up. Page mocks Breeze by hitting his signature pose in the corner, but Breeze levels Page with a kick and berates him in the corner. He delivers a right hand to Page, but Page jams his knee into the back of Breeze's neck using the middle rope and sends him crashing into the turnbuckles during the commercial break. Breeze sends Page crashing out of the ring, but Page quickly returns back inside the ring and rains down right hands on Breeze. He runs him over with a boot to the side of his face.

Back from the break, Page sets up for Twisted Grin. Breeze avoids the move before Page connects with Ego's Edge on him and goes for a pin. Breeze kicks out, and a frustrated Page begins yelling at Wagner in the crowd. Breeze then sends Page's knee bouncing off the ring post and cinches in a Figure Four Leg Lock on Page using the ring post.

Breeze cinches in a Half Boston Crab on Page back inside the ring, but Page crawls over to the bottom rope to break the hold. Page manages to roll up Breeze, but Breeze kicks out and runs over Page with a kick to his face. He goes for a pin, but Breeze kicks out. Breeze sets up for the Unprettier on Page, but Page escapes and sets up for Twisted Grin. Breeze avoids it and sets up for the Unprettier again, but Page avoids it once again.

Winner and STILL NXT North American Champion: Ethan Page

    – After the match, Page stares down Wagner in the crowd as Page holds up the North American Championship and Wagner holds up the AAA Latin American Championship.

    – Tavoin Heights is backstage and is annoyed Ethan Page just won. Damian Priest comes in and tells Heights that he's been watching him and Heights is so close in breaking out. Priest says at No Mercy he got Heights a match against Ethan Page. Heights starts picking Priest's brain about what he can to get on the next level.

    – Grayson Waller walks to the ring for the Grayson Waller Effect.

Waller welcomes fans to a special homecoming edition of "The Grayson Waller Effect" as Femi and Saints are already waiting in the ring. He introduces Saints and Femi, then asks if it will be Oba-rated or Ricky Soft who wins their NXT Championship Match at No Mercy.

Femi tells Saints that he doesn't think he's very special and says despite everything Saints has going for him, he's still underwhelmed by him. He says he eats, sleeps, and breathes the NXT Championship while Saints constantly thinks about when he'll be moved up to the main roster to carry Cody Rhodes' bags for him.

Saints asks Femi who he is without the NXT Championship, then says he acts like a warrior when he's just a pampered athlete. He says he poured all his energy into his Performance Center try out 8 years ago only to be rejected, but a delay is not a denial and he will always gamble himself. He says he won't be denied at No Mercy and he'll become the NXT Championship at No Mercy.

Trick Williams makes his way out and says Femi has something that belongs to him still in the NXT Championship. Waller says he's going to talk to Ava and Santino Marella to get a NXT Championship and TNA World Championship Winner Takes All Match between Williams and Femi, with Williams and Femi both agreeing.

    – We then head backstage, where Charlie Dempsey informs Wren Sinclair that he's heading to Japan for a month. Bobby Roode approaches the pair, and Sinclair invokes Joe Hendry's name. Hendry appears, and Roode advises Hendry to go after the NXT Championship.

    – We come back from a commercial break, Lexis King is in the ring and he says he is the face of NXT and that's why he's here. King says the black and gold NXT is overrated and that it's in the past and the stars of the past don't care about NXT fans have moved on. He says he's still here for them and even had Myles Borne attack him last week. He says next week they will have a lights out match next week and the lights go out and Finn Balor comes out. As King is distracted by Balor, Borne runs in and takes down King and Balor hits Coup de Grace on King.

    – Kelly Kincaid talks to DarkState. They say all that matters is that they're still champs. Montez Ford comes by and says that there was a time he was an NXT Tag Champ. Ford talks smack to them and they get pissed off.

Jazmyn Nyx slaps Ripley, but instantly realizes her mistake. Vaquer levels Nyx, and Ripley sends her crashing on top of Henley and Jayne on the entrance ramp with a Razor's Edge.

During the commercial break, Jayne tags in and fires off stomps on Valkyria in the corner. Henley tags in and follows suit, then mocks Valkyria by chirping like a bird and tags in Jayne. Jayne delivers a cannonball to Valkyria in the corner, then fires off knees on her oblique and sends her crashing into the mat face first.
