PARTING WAYS: Rap group Jurassic 5 are set to split after a brief tour of Australia and Japan.
Rap group Jurassic 5 are set to split after a brief tour of Australia and Japan.
The popular hip-hop outfit, who have been together for 15 years, are splitting because the band members don't see "eye to eye right now", member Soup told NME.com
“After the tour, that’s basically it. I don’t want to sit here and fake around with it.
"People see us a harmonising, loving group, but that’s far from the truth."
Soup hinted that rapper Charli 2na wanted to launch a solo career.
“Some people here want their own shrine, their own thing. If that’s what you want, I say more power to you.
"I hope it works out for you - just don’t come up with lame excuses.”
The band found criticial and commercial acclaim over three albums, Quality Control (2000), Power In Numbers (2002) and Feedback (2006).
DJ Cut Chemist left the band in 2006, but Jurassic 5 continued on as a five-piece. They last toured New Zealand in January, 2007.
