Fulham chief Chris Coleman has been given the green light to raid the market and they invited McNaughton for a trial at Craven Cottage.

McNaughton was looking forward to the chance to showcase his skills in London, but The Cottagers called off the trial on Monday.

The Dons confirmed the news in a statement on their website and added that Bridge would appear to be Coleman's primary target.

"Dons star Kevin McNaughton was training with his Pittodrie colleagues as normal today after Fulham decided not to go ahead with his visit to Craven Cottage due to their renewed interest in Chelsea's England international Wayne Bridge," read the statement.

Bridge has failed to win his place back under Jose Mourinho following his return from injury and Coleman would appear to be aware of his plight.

In what is a World Cup year, Bridge is desperate to secure regular playing time and may fancy a short hop across the capital to Fulham.
