    Default WWE Legal Invades Wrestlecon

Representatives of WWE legal swept through the Wrestlecon vendors room this afternoon, seizing "bootlegged" material such as DVDs, t-shirts, etc. that were being sold by some of the vendors who had come into town to sell at the event.

WWE came armed with a legal order that was signed several days ago that allowed them to seize any material sold within 5 miles of Wrestlemania. That's a standard tactic that touring acts do to prevent bootleg t-shirts being sold outside their events. Since Wrestlecon fell within that perimeter, WWE came by to see what was being sold.

Those who had material seized were given a court date to appear and try to argue their case as to why the material should be returned...and risk paying damages. WWE took personal information of those who were selling materials.

WWE came armed with a massive list of their copyrights and trademarks to show they were being infringed upon.

Default WWE Does Great WrestleMania 29 Business

As noted earlier here on the website, members of WWE’s legal department showed up at the Wrestlecon event on Sunday afternoon seizing bootleg materials such as DVDs, t-shirts and more. The items were being sold by vendors at the weekend event. WWE showed up with a legal order signed earlier this week allowing them to seize any material violating copyrights that was being sold within five miles of Wrestlemania 29. Those who had material taken away were given a court date and were required to provide personal information.

All signs seem to point to WWE doing great business this weekend for Wrestlemania 29 in the New York and New Jersey area. According to reports, television ratings for the three hour episodes of RAW were up from the two hour shows last year. Live attendance over the last six weeks has been the strongest for WWE in years. The show tonight at Metlife Stadium has already set a new live gate record. WWE is expected to release official numbers by Monday.

Thumbs up WWE Legal Representatives Invade WrestleCon

WWE legal representatives invaded the WrestleCon convention in New York City this weekend and seized bootleg merchandise such as WWE DVD's t-shirts and more that were being sold by various vendors.

The legal reps had legal orders that were signed several days ago, allowing them to seize any material sold within 5 miles of WrestleMania.

Vendors who had material seized were given a court date to appear at. WWE also took personal information of those who were selling the bootleg merchandise.
