Ben Askren isn’t done with Dillon Danis quite yet. The former ONE and Bellator welterweight champion took to Twitter to take a shot at the jiu-jitsu ace’s camp. Danis, a Bellator MMA fighter, posted a photo of himself training in the gym. He captioned the photo with:

“We do not rise to the level of our expectations. We fall to the level of our training.”

Askren used the post as an opportunity to take a shot at UFC mega-star Conor McGregor, as well as he and Danis’ gym, SBG Ireland:

“Are you telling us this is what happened to Conor?”

McGregor’s last Octagon appearance resulted in a fourth-round submission defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Irishman failed to recapture the lightweight championship he was stripped of after over a year of inactivity. Now, McGregor is serving a six-month suspension for his involvement in the post-fight brawl that happened, involving both himself and Danis, against Team Khabib.

Askren is gearing up to fight in his first contest under a UFC banner. He’ll take on former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler. The pair will meet on the main card of the UFC 225 pay-per-view from the T-Mobiel Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 2, 2019. If victorious, the 170-pound division will have another top name vying for a title shot. However, things could get awkward if Askren finds himself in the title picture.
