Reports have emerged that changes are coming to IMPACT Wrestling.
It has come to light that on Monday an all-hands meeting with talent was held Monday prior to their Toronto TV taping. They discussed what's lined up in the coming months and the reason behind it.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that IMPACT's production facilities will experience "massive upgrades" to their technology and it will start this fall.
It is believed that the changes will improve both their weekly TV and for their streaming specials and pay-per-views. A renovation of their Skyway Studios location in Nashville, Tennessee, will be part of those changes.
The report further noted that the process will require roughly a month, as well as a few more weeks for staff to master the new system. It is understood that during this time, IMPACT production will be assisted by some sister companies for the shows that will air after Bound for Glory.
After October's Bound for Glory weekend, IMPACT will reduce its TV taping dates for the rest of 2023 due to the production upgrades. The promotion usually holds tapings the day after a pay-per-view in addition to two taping days on random weekends throughout the year.
Following the post-Bound for Glory TV taping in October, the company has no domestic dates announced. However, they will be heading to the UK for a four-date trek in late October.
The report also indicated that as the dates are reduced, less talent will be used and IMPACT's parent company "Anthem will be paying day rate talent for extra days through the remainder of the year to help offset their missing dates."
The report states that IMPACT will hold a joint show with AAA in November that will air on AXS TV. They also confirmed another IPWF Throwback Throwdown streaming special will take place on Saturday, November 11, whereas Final Resolution pay-per-view for Saturday, December 11. Both of those events will take place at Santino Marella's Battle Arts Academy in Toronto.
Notably, the annual January pay-per-view Hard to Kill is set to make a comeback to Las Vegas but not at Sam's Town. It will be at a venue directly on the Las Vegas strip. The date and location of the event is yet to be announced.
The report further stated that no releases are planned and that IMPACT expects to move back to using a full roster again in 2024 in what could be a "grander year" for them.
