NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston has been pulled from an indie show that is scheduled for Saturday.
Kingston was slated to be involved in the upcoming independent show just days before AEW Grand Slam. However, on social media, Absolute Intense Wrestling revealed that 'The Mad King' is no longer scheduled to appear on the show due to undisclosed reasons.
There is a possibility that the change might be an indication that Kingston is set to appear during Saturday night's AEW Collision to build the hype for his highly-anticipated match against Claudio Castagnoli.
It has been announced that he would be replaced for the September 16 show by fellow AEW star, Lance Archer.

Meanwhile, Eddie Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli are involved in a heated rivalry. Their rivalry is well documented. The duo's rivalry dates back to their days in CHIKARA and ROH. Since Castagnoli made his AEW debut last year at Forbidden Door, they have teamed for a brief period in last year's edition of Blood & Guts. However, that didn't resolve their issues.
For several months Kingston has expressed his distaste towards the Blackpool Combat Club member. They are set to settle the scores inside the squared circle next week.
Castagnoli's Ring of Honor World Championship and Kingston's NJPW Strong Openweight Championship both will be on the line in a winner-takes-all match at AEW Grand Slam. The special show will take place at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City next Wednesday.
We will have to wait and see which star emerges victorious and leaves the venue as the double champ.
