AEW's Jay White was reportedly left underwhelmed with the build to his Full Gear match with MJF, as well as the bout itself.

Last weekend's pay-per-view saw White challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship in the Switchblade's first pay-per-view main event since coming to AEW. Much of the story before Full Gear was centered on MJF trying to reclaim the championship belt that White had stolen from the actual champion.

The booking of their feud at Full Gear has divided fans, with many criticizing how the match was put together. On the Full Gear pre-show, MJF & unlikely ally Samoa Joe retained the ROH World Tag Team Championships against the Gunns, who attacked MJF after the match. This injury led to MJF being temporarily pulled from the main event, before he returned later in the show to compete. Despite MJF having wrestled already and nursing a leg injury, White, who was completely fresh and used the AEW World Championship as a weapon, couldn't dethrone the champ.

White was far from pleased with the build towards his match with MJF, as well as the match, PW Torch has reported. The New Zealand-born wrestler is likely hoping that a strong performance in the AEW Continental Classic will help change how fans perceive him after his loss at Full Gear.

White is part of the Gold League in the Continental Classic. During this week's AEW Dynamite, White earned three points with a victory over Rush. Jon Moxley and Swerve Strickland each won three points with wins over Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal, respectively.
