QT Marshall had been frustrated for some time in AEW before publicly declaring that he would be leaving, it has been claimed.

This week, Marshall announced that he would be finishing with the company by the end of this year. In a statement shared to social media, Khan thanked Tony Khan and the rest of AEW for their support over the years. In addition to being an on-screen personality, Marshall serves as an AEW Vice President, producer, and manager of Talent Relations.

Marshall hasn't finished his time yet, but the QTV member may be ready for the next chapter of his career in wrestling.

QT Marshall had a cushy management position with AEW, but he's a wrestler first. At 38 years old, he's nearing the end of his athletic prime. He's not ready to hang up his boots just yet and wants to gauge interest from other promotions.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Marshall has expressed his frustrations behind the scenes in AEW - and there "have been things that have happened" that precipitated the departure.

"One thing with QT, and it’s a big one – QT wants to be a wrestling star. And it wasn’t gonna happen in AEW," said Meltzer. "I know he expressed frustration to a lot of people about that – feeling he’s had good matches but he’s not been positioned to be a wrestling star there.“

Marshall has a great reputation behind the scenes in AEW. Sources in the company have said that people understand his decision to move on, and appreciate his contributions.
