All Elite Wrestling's Kota Ibushi will return to the ring on July 1, for a five-minute match to celebrate 20 years of his career in professional wrestling.

Ibushi's long-awaited in-ring return will come as part of the third-anniversary event for GLEAT, a wrestling promotion based in Ibushi's native Japan. Ibushi will have a brief five-minute match at the event as he is currently healing from a series of injuries that have kept him out of the ring in 2024.

The show will take place on July 1 from the Tokyo Dome City Hall. Tickets are currently on sale and will remain so until June 30. Doors will open at 5 pm local time with the show starting at 6 pm.

At a Pro Wrestling NOAH event on January 1, Ibushi was transported to a hospital after injuring his ankles. The Japanese star reportedly walked into the match with a broken ankle but still wrestled the 30-minute main event against Naomichi Marufuji. This match understandably made his injury situation worse and Ibushi hasn't competed since then.

His absence has come as quite the blow to AEW who is also missing Ibushi's Golden Lovers tag-team partner Kenny Omega. The Cleaner has been out of action since late 2023 due to a battle with diverticulitis and recently underwent surgery. In spite of his injury, Omega was attacked by The Elite earlier this year and was ousted from the faction.

Ibushi and Omega have teamed four times in AEW but have yet to be without other allies. The duo currently boasts a 2-2 win/loss record in AEW but hope to bolster those numbers when they are both back to 100%.
