Angry WWE RAW Live Coverage - December 16th, 2024

CM Punk responds to Seth “Freakin” Rollins

CM Punk is aspiring to enter the championship picture, but he seemingly has unfinished business with Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Rollins has frequently called out The Voice of the Voiceless, though Punk called Rollins a “second-stringer” while being interviewed by Jackie Redmond.

    – The Judgement Day arrives at the arena, as does Bron Breakker, and Ludwig Kaiser.

    – Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore greet audiences at home as CM Punk makes his way out to the ring.

Punk pumps up the crowd and then tells everyone he's in a bad mood and he's feeling low. He says two weeks ago he said he doesn't think about Seth Rollins but lately Rollins has been on his mind and it puts him in a bad mood. He also says that it's a matter of time until they lock up in the ring. He says he expects Rollins to interrupt him when he's in the ring doing what he loves doing - talking to everyone. He says Rollins likes to paint this pic of Punk being the bad guy - he says Seth Rollins is CM Punk's failure and invites Rollins to interrupt him. He asks the crowd to chant his name so Rollins comes out. Rollins comes through the crowd chanting CM Punk. Rollins insults Punk and says that he loves WWE and when Punk abandoned the fans and WWE he held the company on his back. Punk and Rollins start fighting in the crowd. Security and officials come down to break this up. The fight spills into the ring and the officials continue to try to break them up. Both Rollins and Punk run away from officials only to collide in the arena to fight.

    – The Judgement Day is backstage and Finn Balor is not happy they left him in a two on one spot at Saturday Night's Main Event. Liv Morgan wishes the tag champs good luck and they leave.

    – Seth Rollins is fuming backstage, Adam Pearce screams at him for starting fights with CM Punk. Drew McIntyre comes by and tells Rollins they have a common cause against Roman Reigns. Rollins tells McIntyre he's not his friend and that's why they don't have a common cause.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Ludwig Kaiser

The bell rings and Breakker fires off shoulders on Kaiser's midsection in the corner. He follows it up with a back body drop, but Kaiser whips Breakker into the opposite corner and connects with an open palm strike. Breakker rains down right hands on Kaiser, then dumps him out of the ring.

Back from the break, Breakker rains down right hands on Kaiser in the corner. Breakker catches Kaiser with a spinebuster and pins him, but Kaiser kicks out. Breakker connects with a bodyslam, then hits a suplex and a clothesline on Kaiser off the apron that sends him crashing over the announce desk. The pair get back in the ring, and Breakker sits Kaiser on the top turnbuckle. Kaiser escapes and fires off stomps on Breakker's shoulder, then begins targeting his shoulder and wears it down before he connects with a dropkick to his shoulder.

Back from another break, Breakker rains down right hands on Kaiser. Kaiser sends Breakker's shoulder bouncing off the top rope and delivers a stomp to it, then connects with a kick on it. Breakker rocks Kaiser with a jumping knee and levels him with a pair of clothesline, then connects with a flying back elbow and sits him on the top turnbuckle. Breakker connects with a hurricanrana off the top rope, but Kaiser responds with a Death Valley Driver to him and goes for a pin. Breakker kicks out, and Kaiser continues wearing his shoulder down with a submission hold.

Kaiser sends Breakker crashing into the middle turnbuckle shoulder first, then dumps him out of the ring. Breakker levels Kaiser and tosses him back inside the ring, then hits a gutbuster on him and follows it up with the Super Spear for the win.

Winner and STILL the Intercontinental Champion: Bron Breakker

    – We then head backstage and see New Day looking to enter the men's locker room. Rey Mysterio emerges and informs Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston that it's best if they get changed elsewhere after their exchange with Big E a couple of weeks ago.

    – Cathy Kelley talks to Adam Pearce who lets her know CM Punk will take on Seth Rollins on the Jan 6th episode of Raw on Netflix.

    – Liv Morgan makes her way to the ring with Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez. Morgan and Dom canoodle in the ring as Rodriguez carries a megaphone in her hands. Dom tries to get the crowd's attention but he's boo'd out. Morgan says she's the greatest women's champ of all time. She says 2024 was her year and there are big changes coming in 2025 and she's the perfect person to lead the company. Rhea Ripley's music hits and she makes her way out. Ripley tells Morgan to shut up and she has something Morgan wants to hear. She says let's settle this once and for all, and that Pearce has made it official. Ripley is the number one contender and Morgan's title reign is ending and all Morgan will be left with is, is her chicken tender slut.

    – Jackie Redmond catches up with Seth Rollins and behind them Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn start scrapping.

    – The Miz talks with The Final Testament about him not being needed. Karrion Kross says what The Wyatt Sicks did to Paul Ellering and Scarlet it's still not done. Kross tells The Miz he will challenge Dexter Lumis on RAW next week and to go to Pearce and make the match.

Women’s Intercontinental Title Tournament Triple Threat Match: Zoey Stark vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Kayden Carter

The bell rings and Carter goes after Stark. Rodriguez tosses Carter and Stark across the ring and stacks them up in the corner, then charges at them both and levels Carter before pinning her. Stark breaks the fall, then fires off right hands on Rodriguez. Carter looks to land a Monkey Flip on Stark, but Stark lands on her feet and hits a DDT on Rodriguez. Stark delivers a superkick to Rodriguez on the apron, but Rodriguez levels her with a boot. Carter then delivers a Tornillo through the middle rope to level both Carter and Rodriguez on the outside.

Back from the break, Rodriguez sends Stark crashing out of the ring with a shoulder pounce. Carter rolls up Rodriguez, but Rodriguez kicks out. She sends Stark and Carter crashing into each other, but Stark connects with the Z360 on Carter for the win.

    Winner: Zoey Stark

    – The Alpha Academy is backstage with R-Truth and Pete Dunne is comes in telling Truth to not call him Butch. American Made stops by and tells Alpha Academy that they're jokes now. Otis tells Gable to shut up and Gable says he's going to destroy what he's created and he'll start with Tozawa and American Made leaves.

    – Jackie Redmond is with The New Day backstage and they're still looking for a place to change when ruckus ensues. We see Pure Fusion Collection attacking Kairi Sane crushing her fingers in a crate. Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai run over to check on Sane and PFC leave.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Judgement Day (c) vs. The War Raiders

JD McDonagh and Ivar begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. Ivar runs over McDonagh with a shoulder tackle and drags Balor into the ring, then connects with a bodyslam on McDonagh and lands a second one on Balor on top of McDonagh. Erik tags in and Ivar bodyslams McDonagh before Erik bodyslams Ivar on top of McDonagh.

Back from the break, Balor connects with his signature elbow drop on Ivar, then hits a series of stomps on Ivar using the ropes. McDonagh tags back in, but Ivar levels him and Balor. Erik tags in and connects with a suplex on McDonagh, then levels him with a right hand and follows it up with a spinning back suplex. He connects with a chokeslam on Balor, then levels McDonagh and dumps him over the top rope and to the outside. Erik runs the ropes, but Balor grabs his ankle. This opens the door for McDonagh to connect with a Hip Attack to Erik that sends him crashing to the outside and tag in Balor. Balor and McDonagh then send Erik crashing into the ring steps twice.

Back from another break, McDonagh looks to land an elbow drop on Erik off the middle rope. Erik moves out of the way, then tags in Ivar. Ivar levels McDonagh with a Sidewalk Slam and connects with a low crossbody, then connects with a senton on Balor in the corner and ascends to the top. Balor trips Ivar, then tags in McDonagh.

McDonagh joins Ivar on the ropes, but Ivar connects with a powerslam on him and tags in Erik. Erik tosses McDonagh over to Ivar, and Ivar lands an over the shoulder powerslam on him. Erik pins McDonagh, but Balor breaks the fall. The War Raiders look to double team on McDonagh, but Balor trips Ivar. McDonagh rolls up Erik in the ring, but Erik kicks out.

Balor tags back in, but Erik fires off strikes on him and connects with a knee to the back of his neck and delivers a Sling Blade. Balor dropkicks Erik into the corner, and McDonagh delivers a moonsault off the top. Balor follows it up with a Coup De Grace and pins Erik, but Erik kicks out. McDonagh then grabs a chair at the request of Balor, but the referee catches him. Balor grabs a chair of his own, but Damian Priest stops him from bringing it into the ring. While the referee has his back turned, Ivar levels McDonagh with a clothesline. Ivar then tags in and War Raiders connect with War Machine for the win.

Winners and NEW WWE Tag Team Champions: The War Raiders

    – After the match, The War Raiders hold up the World Tag Team Championship belts as pyro is set off and the show goes off the air.
