Angry WWE NXT Live Coverage - January 28th, 2025

Bianca Belair and Naomi defend the Women's Tag Title against Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson

Bianca Belair and Naomi return to NXT to defend the WWE Women's Tag Team Title against Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson. Since joining Belair after Jade Cargill was mysteriously attacked, Naomi has fit in seamlessly and helped Belair defend the title numerous times. The Meta-Girls, meanwhile, have been determined to win gold for the first time and take their reign all over WWE.

    – Austin Theory & Grayson Waller, Oba Femi, Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend, Bianca Belair & Naomi are all shown arriving to the venue.

    – We are live! Vic Joseph, Booker T, and Corey Graves greet audiences at home as Giulia makes her way out to the ring. Bayley, Roxanne Perez, and Cora Jade follow.

Giulia and Bayley vs. Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade

Jade and Perez look to blindside Giulia and Bayley from behind, but Giulia and Bayley see them coming and send them crashing out of the ring. Perez gets inside the ring, and the bell sounds. Giulia rolls up Perez, but Perez kicks out before the two take turns pinning one another.

Bayley and Jade tag in, and Bayley slaps Jade. She fires off right hands on her, then lands a pair of elbows on her. Perez tags back in and fires off right hands on Bayley, but Bayley knocks her over with one of her own. Jade enters the ring, but Giulia follows her in and delivers a delayed vertical suplex to her as Bayley does the same to Perez.

Giulia tags back in and Jade delivers a stomp to her spine from the apron. She follows it up with a suplex, then tags Perez back in. Perez mockingly stomps on Giulia's midsection and delivers a double stomp to it, then rains down forearms on her and tags in Jade. Jade delivers a hair whip to Giulia, then tags in Bayley. Bayley levels Jade with a pair of clotheslines and a back suplex, then gets Perez up on her shoulders and sends her crashing into the mat.

Bayley ascends to the top rope, but Jade knocks her off with a knee and fires off stamps on her as Perez rains down right hands on her while the referee isn't looking. Jade tags back in, and Perez lands a moonsault on Bayley. Bayley lands the Bayley-To-Belly on Perez, then tags in Giulia. Giulia lands a belly-to-belly suplex on Perez, then lands a boot as she charges at her in the corner and connects with a dropkick off the ropes. Jade looks to land a forearm on Giulia, but accidentally hits Perez. Giulia then rocks Jade with a headbutt and tags in Bayley. Bayley lands an elbow drop on Jade for the win.

    Winners: Giulia and Bayley

    – A video package for Eddy Thorpe plays.

    – We come back from commercial and Austin Theory and Grayson Waller are in the ring for The Grayson Waller Effect. Waller invites out Oba Femi who makes his way out. Waller gives Femi props for his little dance to the ring and rattles off Femi's accolades. Femi says the title is exactly where it needs to be. Theory says Femi has taken over NXT which reminds Theory of him. He says Femi is seen as a main eventer on the main roster but he and Waller don't see that at all. Femi asks if that's why he's here so they can tell him he has no potential. Femi says neither Waller or Theory were ever NXT champs. Waller says he wants to see if Femi's hype is real and says that Femi wishes he was on the main roster doing what A-Town Down Under is doing. Theory says he did more in the WWE before Femi signed with WWE than Femi has done since he has been on NXT. Theory tells Femi that they've travelled around the world creating unforgettable moments. Femi says they have big mouths - he asks them if they think he got here by running his mouth - Femi says he's building a dynasty. Femi challenges one of them to match at Vengeance Day. Ava comes out to remind Femi that he can't make matches around here and that she does. Trick Williams interrupts Ava and gets in the ring and gets face to face with Femi. Theory goes to attack Femi and Williams but Williams takes out Theory and Waller. Femi hits Williams with a powerbomb and we get a commercial break.

    – Sarah Schreiber catches up with Izzy Dame and asks her about what's going on with her and Tony D'Angelo. Dame says they have a common enemy and that's all. Ridge Holland comes up and calls Dame a liar and gets in her face. Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo comes to Dame's rescue and tells Holland to not talk to women that way and officials break them up.

    – We see Trick Williams being checked on by officials.

    – Wes Lee, Tyriek Igwe, and Tyson DuPont then all make their way down to the ring.

Trick Williams vs. Wes Lee (w/ Tyriek Igwe and Tyson DuPont)

The bell rings and Lee dropkicks Williams. Williams fires off right and left hands on Lee, but Lee looks to fly off the ropes. Williams catches him, but Lee escapes and fires off right hands on Williams. He lands a low crossbody on him, then knocks him out of the ring and connects with a meteora to Williams off the apron and onto the announce desk.

Lee dumps Wiliams back in the ring and fires off elbows on him as he has a modified Abdominal Stretch cinched in on him. He fires off a couple forearms on him, then locks in a Camel Clutch. Lee trips Williams, then connects with a roundhouse kick on his face and lands a forearm on the back of his neck. He cinches in a Half Boston Crab on Williams, but Williams escapes and fires off right and left hands on Lee. He follows it up with a bodyslam and a back body drop, then sends him crashing into the mat spine first and drags DuPont into the ring. He beats him down, then dumps Lee on top of DuPont on the outside and lands a right hand on him back in the ring.

Williams grabs a chair as the official tries to get Williams calmed down, but Williams doesn't listen and the revere disqualifies him.

    Winner: Wes Lee (via disqualification)

    – We then head backstage to Ava's office as Oba Femi walks in. Ava informs him that he will be defending his NXT Championship against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory.

    – Shotzi, Gigi Dolin, and Tatum Paxley then make their way out to the ring. Fatal Influence follows.

NXT Women's North American Championship Match: Fallon Henley (w/ Fatal Influence) vs. Shotzi (w/ Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley)

The bell rings and Shotzi lands a hurricanrana on Henley. She follows it up with an enzuigiri, but Henley sends her crashing into the mat off the middle rope. Henley and Shotzi then teeter on the ropes before Shotzi delivers a hurricanrana to Henley and levels her, Jacy Jayne, and Jazmyn Nyx with a crossbody off the top rope. Paxley and Dolin then brawl with Jayne and Nyx to the back as Henley sends Shotzi's knee crashing into the ring post and follows it up with a chop block.

Henley continues targeting Shotzi's knee and jams her boot into her in the corner, then cinches in a Half Boston Crab as she wears down Shotzi's knee. Shotzi escapes, but Henley runs her over with a clothesline. Shotzi returns the favor, and the two stare each other down. They then exchange forearms with one another, but Shotzi levels Henley with a twisting neckbreaker and follows it up with a knee strike and a forearm. She lands a second neckbreaker on Henley and connects with a suplex on her in the corner.

Henley sends Shotzi's knee bouncing off the announce desk, then sends her face bouncing off it. The pair return to the ring and Shotzi rolls up Henley, but Henley kicks out and looks to land a Curb Stomp. Shotzi avoids it and connects with a Sliced Bread out of the corner, then ascends up the ropes. Henley stops her with a right hand and joins her on them, but Shotzi sends her crashing into the mat face first and delivers a senton off the top. She goes for a pin, but Henley kicks out. Shotzi rolls up Henley once again, but Henley kicks out and sends Shotzi crashing into the mat. She then sends her crashing into the mat with a leg drop to her spine for the win.

Winner and STILL NXT Women's North American Champion: Fallon Henley

    – After the match, Stephanie Vaquer's music hits and she appears on the entrance ramp. She stares down Henley as Henley holds up her Women's North American Championship.

    – Backstage Kelani Jordan and Karmen Petrovic are backstage and Petrovic thanks her for helping her out last week. Jordan snaps at her and says she did for her and tells her Ashante "Thee" Adonis will dump her soon.

    – Sarah Schreiber talks to Ava backstage and they discuss the Vengeance Day line-up. She talks about Giulia's match at Vengeance Day which will be Giulia vs Bayley vs Roxanne Perez. Cora Jade is upset because Perez said it was Jade who got pinned today and not her and Jade storms off.

    – Ethan Page then makes his way down to the ring. Cedric Alexander follows.

    Ethan Page vs. Cedric Alexander

The bell rings and Alexander wastes no time. He fires off right hands on Page and rains down more of them on the mat, then connects with several knees to the side of his face in the corner and jams his boot into Page's face. Alexander then delivers a dropkick to Page and rains down more right hands on him, but Page looks to get Alexander up on his shoulders. Alexander escapes, then rocks Page with a right hand and jams his boot into his neck.

Alexander delivers a chop to Page on the outside, but Page sends Alexander crashing into the ring apron spine first and looks to target Alexander's hand. Alexander fights off Page, but Page sends him crashing into the ring post. Alexander then lands a boot on Page and sends him crashing into the ring apron spine first.

Alexander dumps Page back inside the ring, but Page rains down right hands on him and wears him down with a submission hold. Alexander responds with a Michinoku Driver to Page. He cinches in a submission of his own on Page, and the two then trade strikes with one another before Alexander delivers a couple of kicks to Page and looks to fly off the ropes. Page trips him and connects with a twisting cutter for the win.

    Winner: Ethan Page

    – After the match, Page looks to continue beating down Alexander but Je'Von Evans' music hits and he runs down to the ring to take down Page.

    – Fatal Influence is backstage and Henley is annoyed Vaquer ruined her moment. Henley says Jayne will challenge Vaquer next week.

    – Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson then make their way out to the ring. Naomi and Bianca Belair follow.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Naomi and Bianca Belair (c) vs. Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson

Naomi and Jackson begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. They exchange submission holds before Belair tags in and double teams on Jackson with Naomi. Legend tags in and Belair levels her with a back suplex. She follows it up with a standing moonsault and goes for a pin, but Legend kicks out and fires off a few knees on Belair's oblique. She then connects with a backbreaker and delivers a standing flip to Belair before the two level one another with dropkicks and kip up.

Naomi tags in and sends Legend crashing into the mat with Belair, then connects with a leg drop and fires off a few kicks on her hips. Naomi lands a roundhouse kick on Legend, but Legend sends her crashing into the top turnbuckle face first and takes a cheap shot at Belair on the apron. Jackson gets in a few cheap shots on Naomi as the referee is distracted by Belair and Legend.

Jackson then tags in and lands a couple of knees on Naomi. Legend tags in and whips Jackson into Naomi, then delivers a splash to her and follows it up with a standing splash. Belair tags in and rains down right hands on Jackson in the corner, then sends her crashing into the mat and connects with a moonsault. Naomi tags in and pins Jackson, but Legend breaks the fall. Beair gets Legend up for the KOD, but Legend escapes and sends Belair crashing onto the floor. She then holds the middle rope open for Jackson to fly through and level Belair.

Legend tags in and delivers a neckbreaker-facebuster combination with Jackson to Naomi. She goes for a pin, but Belair breaks the fall and spears Jackson. Legend sends Belair crashing into the mat off her shoulders, then delivers a powerbomb to Naomi. Naomi rocks Legend with an enzuigiri, but Legend runs her over with a boot and tags in Jackson. Jackson rolls up Naomi, but Naomi reverses the fall. Jackson kicks out, and Belair tags in. Belair and Naomi then deliver a double KOD to Jackson for the win.

Winners and STILL WWE Women's Tag Team Champions: Bianca Belair & Naomi

    – After the match, a colored bar screen appears with the words "Vengeance Day" shown on it as the show goes off the air.
