AEW Dynamite
Following the incredible spectacle of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in London, including the unforgettable and chaotic Lights Out Steel Cage Match, AEW Dynamite features a Falls Count Anywhere showdown between Darby Allin and Claudio Castagnoli. Plus, Jon Moxley is back in action against Daniel Garcia, and the women's division heats up as Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford face Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander in tag team action.
AEW Dynamite comes on the air with Excalibur welcoming us alongside Taz & Ian Riccaboni, run-down tonight’s card before showing the ending to the Forbidden Door PPV and Death Riders putting Will Ospreay on the shelf indefinitely. Excalibur said they understand Ospreay was still being held for observation, when he was cut off by the music of FTR, who come to the ring with Stokely.
FTR Gets More Than They Bargained For
Harwood said unfortunately at Forbidden Door, there was a miscarriage of justice surrounding their match and knows fans in Philadelphia were upset they’re not able to celebrate the 11th World Tag Title reign of FTR. That was met with “Shut the F Up” chants and Taz said welcome to Philly, as Harwood said he was pinned by someone who wasn’t the legal man, so he wants to have a word with referee Paul Turner (who was in the ring for the opening contest). Harwood called him an incompetent moron and a failure, demanding Turner admit he was wrong and overturn his decision from Sunday and make them AEW Tag Team Champions. Turner apologized, but said his decision was final. Stokely ripped the microphone away and called Turner a moron and nincompoop who wants to appease to the fans online. Demanding Turner hop off the internet fans ass and do the right thing, as Stokely shoved Turner and FTR stepped between the two until Adam Copeland’s music hit.
Copeland’s entrance was a distraction for Christian Cage to sneak up from behind and lay out Stokely with a Killswitch, as the brawl with Copeland, Cage & FTR were on, as they brawled all over ringside, being separated by security and referees. After a brief separation, the fight kicked up again before FTR bailed, dragging Stokely with them. Cage said at Forbidden Door, they took care of his problem, now it’s time to take care of Copeland’s. Cage understands Harwood & Wheeler have father’s, which Copeland had to put a stop to, but called the fans sickos and gave the mic back to Cage, who said that b*tch is dead. Copeland said it’s set in stone, All Out, Toronto, September 20th, C&C vs. FTR and called them dead men. Excalibur said Tony Khan has made it official for the PPV.
-Before tonight’s main event, Darby Allin had a video package apologizing for those who wish he died on Mount Everest, but he’s still here, ready to take everything from Jon Moxley. It wasn’t just about the AEW World Title, he’s going to take Moxley’s career, destroy the Death Riders and talked about seeing the bodies as he climbed the mountain. All the moments Death Riders have taken from people in AEW and said for Moxley not to step foot in the ring with him unless he’s willing to die. At All Out, he’s taking everything from Jon Moxley. As this whole video was shown, Allin had ripped off the bandage of his mutilated ear from Forbidden Door and was painting with the blood on a wall that read All Out before it went up in flames.
Jon Moxley (w/ Marina Shafir & Wheeler Yuta) vs. Daniel Garcia
Moxley controlled in the early going, but Garcia was able to slow the momentum with a dragon screw through the ropes, sending Moxley outside. Shafir stared a hole through Garcia, who hit multiple charging dropkicks against the barricade. Moxley scrambled back inside, but a brief distraction from Yuta & Shafir allowed Moxley to hit a big boot and regain control. Daddy Magic came to ringside to support Garcia, who picked Moxley’s ankle back inside for an ankle lock. Moxley scurried outside to regroup as things went to commercial.
Things returned with Moxley in the driver’s seat, raking the back and biting at the forehead of Garcia trapped in a Tree of Woe. Moxley joined him in the corner, started slapping Garcia, which only woke him up, as he bit Moxley in the leg before delivering a superplex. Both men slowly up, as Moxley started absorbing clotheslines, but not the Nigel comeback lariat, which got a two count. After trading pin attempts, Moxley exploded out with a Cutter, but Garcia held onto the top rope to avoid a Paradigm Shift and sank in a Half Crab. Moxley made the ropes, went back outside, getting a throat chop and DDT on the ring steps, but Garcia just made the count at 9. Side stepping a Curb Stomp, Garcia applied a Dragon Tamer, but Moxley got out with a Bulldog Choke attempt. Garcia rolled through and hit a Piledriver, but Moxley kicked out. Each man trade inside cradles, with Moxley able to squeak out the flash pin and survive.
Post-match, Moxley handed the microphone to Yuta, who said to Darby Allin that the answer is no. While this was happening, Moxley approached Garcia ringside and tried to whisper something to him, but Garcia was having none of it. Moxley & Shafir left, as Yuta stared down Garcia, who chucked a chair at the ring post, repeatedly shoving the camera out of his face as he went to the back.
Winner: Jon Moxley
In Ring:
Back from break, Wheeler Yuta got back in the ring, saying he had a lot left to say and the show won’t continue until he chooses. Yuta trained and busted his ass in this building and it got him F You Yuta chants. It used to bother him, until he became a Death Rider, which means your chants mean jack sh*t. Yuta brought up Ospreay being taken out on a stretcher at Forbidden Door, Chuck Taylor’s career ending and Bryan Danielson, whose career Yuta said he ended. The lights went out and the HOOK logo was shown in the rafters, as the new crooner music we’ve seen in the vignettes plays and out walks HOOK. Yuta charges and misses, as HOOK sank in the REDRUM before waffling Yuta with a Superman Punch. Yuta scurried away, as HOOK stood tall and he’s officially back.
Video Package:
Cameras caught up with MJF following his match at Forbidden Door, tossing down his Casino Gauntlet case. The fans chanted You Deserve It while MJF is bleeding buckets and had his AEW World Title won, while Mark Briscoe cost him everything. The fans chant You Deserve It, while they’re right, he deserves so much more than this company and said if he sees Briscoe again, he’ll finish the job from last week. MJF brought up Tony Khan saying the cash-in rules have changed (it must be one week notice) and said when he signs that contract, it won’t just be for the AEW Title, it’ll be for Hangman Page’s soul. Once MJF is done with Briscoe, Page will be next.
Harley Cameron & Kris Statlander vs. Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford
Quite the dynamic duo entrance for Cameron & Statlander, who Excalibur said to Riccaboni they stole their routine. Statlander used her speed and power to keep control of Ford, countering a tilt-a-whirl into a back breaker. Fast tags and double teams from Cameron & Statlander, who delivered a delayed vertical suplex until Bayne tagged in. Cameron demanded a tag, wanting revenge for her broken nose, denying a Bayne test of strength attempt with headbutts to the face. Cameron was caught in a corner charge and rag dolled down, while Ford tagged back in, keeping Cameron isolated into break.
When things return, Statlander immediately made a hot tag, planting Ford with a twisting Fisherman’s Buster for a near fall. Ford flipped out of a back suplex, as Bayne made the blind tag, caught Statlander throwing her partner into her arms and chucked Ford back at Statlander into a Cutter. High stack German from Bayne on Statlander, but Cameron made the save. Ford & Bayne went for double moonsaults, but both missed, as Statlander & Cameron connect with thrust kicks. Combination pendulum back suplex/facebuster connected on Ford, but Bayne flew in with a running boot, only to be met with a Statlander discus lariat for the reset. Bayne & Statlander slug it out with forearms and kicks until Ford made a blind tag. On the floor, Cameron takes out Bayne with a tilt-a-whirl DDT, as Statlander caught a diving Ford cross body into an Electric Chair. Statlander wrapped Ford up like a pretzel and got the submission win.
Post-match, Bayne attacked Cameron on the floor and ramped up the fight again with Statlander in the ring. Willow Nightingale hit the ring (despite Statlander holding her own in there with Bayne), as Ford pulled Bayne to safety while Cameron hugged both Nightingale & Statlander, raising both of their hands. Commentary questions if Cameron will be the one to final reunite the two former friends.
Winner: Kris Statlander & Harley Cameron

All of the titles are arranged in the ring, as Renee Paquette introduced Mone to the ring, as she came out wearing the TBS Title. Taz was singing along to her theme, but said due to his bad hips, he can’t do the dance. Mone counted off her titles, as Paquette ran down her resume in the past month. Mone calls herself the Greatest of All Time, History Maker, Record Breaker and said Ultimo Dragon had 10 titles, which is a record she’ll smash. Any woman with a title, she’s coming for you. Paquette brings up Alex Windsor tapping Mone out last week on Dynamite, to which Mone questioned if Paquette is stupid or dumb, she wasn’t tapping out, she was trying to squash a bug. Mone said she was a better RevPro champion than Windsor ever was and said maybe Windsor is jealous that her man was doing her dance, which she said to William that she loved. If Windsor keeps it up, she’ll put her in a hospital bed right next to her husband. Mone has had enough talking, all she wants to do is dance, which she did, to end the segment.

Down in Sandy Fork, Delaware, Mark Briscoe said the 2300 Arena is extremely important to the Briscoe Brothers, but he couldn’t be there for a good reason, showing off his newborn, Baby Mack Briscoe. The next thing Briscoe has to say is not for baby ears and tells someone off screen to “take this and go!” Briscoe said it’s been one week since MJF tried to set him on fire, so he’s taking all MJF’s hopes and dreams and setting them on fire, which is what he did at Forbidden Door. Next time he sees MJF, he’s lighting his ass up. MJF has always said Briscoe can’t win the big one, which got Briscoe thinking of the TNT Champion, Kyle Fletcher, who he is 2-2 with and challenges for a TNT Title match in Philly and questions if Fletcher will Man Up? I’m glad Briscoe is challenging for a title, but I honestly wish he’d be included in the AEW World Title program with MJF & Page if I’m being honest.
Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander & Hechicero (w/ Don Callis & Wardlow) vs. AEW Tag Team Champions Brodido (ROH Champion Bandido & Brody King) & JetSpeed (Speedball Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight)
Callis did his long winded and amazing intro for his team, which impressed even Wardlow with his lung capacity. Hechicero & Bandido give a preview of their Death Before Dishonor ROH Title match this weekend to start. Lighting quick pin attempts and takedowns, as a cazadora arm drag had Bandido stand tall, but the posing led to Hechicero attacking and tagging Takeshita. Bandido quickly escaped and tagged King, who connected with a double senton on Alexander & Takeshita. Fast tags from JetSpeed, until Bailey was grounded and Okada & Takeshita tagged in at the same time, leading to a face-off. Each got back on the same page initially, but King returned and ran them both over with a clothesline and cannonball off the apron outside. JetSpeed & Bandido (with an assist from King) hit triple dives to the floor, leading to commercial.
Back from break, Don Callis made a Danny Hodge comparison to Josh Alexander, which Taz questioned if Callis was 90 years old? King made the hot tag and cleaned house, including Okada taking a Boss Man Slam. Hechicero dodged a corner cannonball, as Alexander hit a stalling German. Takeshita flattened Bailey with a pop-up powerbomb, but Knight saved his partner with a pendulum DDT. Knight at a flapjack by Okada, who Bandido spiked with a suplex. Hechicero quickly in and hammerlock back breaker. King returned as he & Hechicero collided with cross body attempts for the reset. Bailey & Takeshita properly tag in, as Bailey took his head off with a wheel kick, but Takeshita answered with the haymaker forearm. Takeshita tried a sunset flip, but Bailey countered into a backflip double knees, but the whole Callis Family made the save.
As Okada was going to charge at Bailey in the corner, Takeshita pulled him out of the way to drop Bailey and it led to another face-off with Takeshtia & Okada. Brodido put a stop to it and mowed down Okada, as Hechicero low bridged King, but Bandido flew over the top with Hechicero outside. Takeshita hit a somersault plancha onto the pile, as back inside, Bailey tried a flash pin on Alexander, Okada made the save, tried a Rainmaker, Bailey ducked and Okada took a Knight springboard clothesline. Alexander was planted by Bailey, who went up top for a Shooting Star Press, but Alexander moved and got an inside cradle for the flash pin.
Winners: Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander & Hechicero
In Ring:
Hangman Adam Page power walked to the ring to a huge ovation from the 2300 Arena fans. Page said before he gets started, he wants to thank Will Ospreay for everything he’s done for himself and for AEW. Page genuinely is sorry for everything that’s happened to Ospreay since All In and says while he’s gone, all of us will miss him. Recover, heal up and when the time is right, come back to do what he’s the best at and challenge Page for the AEW World Championship. Page said regarding the title, MJF had a chance at it and failed, throwing everything he had at Page and still failed. Everything MJF has done in the past, now he must give a 7-day notice to cash in his contract, but whenever MJF choose to sign it, he will beat his ass before the ink is dry.
Don Callis interrupts, having something important to say to the champ. They have a long history, as Page won his first AEW World Title from Callis, as the only reason he took it from him was due to having a weakling Page took it from. Callis wants that title back in the Don Callis Family and Page doesn’t get to decide who he gets to face, as there’s a whole locker room back there wanting a shot, he know that since he has half under contract. It’s not a matter of if, but who will take it from him? Rocky Romero, Hechicero, Josh Alexander & Lance Archer all surround the ring. Page hits a slingshot dive on Alexander, before the numbers immediately became too much. JetSpeed tried to even the odds, until Callis handed Romero a steel baton, as Bailey got blasted in the ribs. Kenny Omega’s music hit, as he flattens Hechicero with a V-Trigger on the aisle. Snap Dragons to Romero & Alexander, as Archer tried a choke slam, but Omega got the baton and got free. JetSpeed hit dueling dives on Romero & Alexander, while Page & Omega dusted off a page from their old tag playbook and took out Archer with a Buckshot V-Trigger. Omega hugged Page, as JetSpeed joined them to stand tall.
Video package:
For the ROH Women’s Title match this weekend between Athena & Mina Shirakawa. Toni Storm was standing by with Shirakawa after Forbidden Door, saying Athena is beatable, defeatable and eatable and Shirakawa is the Love Bum will devour her before asking Shirakawa how her hand is? Shirakawa slapped Storm in the chest and Storm say My God, You’re Back! Athena told Renee Paquette that she’ll toss Shirakawa off the 2300 Arena, made a Blue Meanie reference and said what she does to Shirakawa will make The Sandman piss his pants.
AEW Trios Championship
The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Powerhouse Hobbs) (c) vs. Ricochet & G.O.A. (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona)
Hobbs immediately no sold Ricochet’s offense, just taking Ricochet’s head off with an overhand strike and follow-up powerslam. Kaun made the blind tag, but was ran over by a shoulder tackle, leading to a Shibata tag. Forearm and chop exchange with Shibata & Kaun, who had his chest turn purple, leading to a stalling corner Shibata dropkick. Ricochet got a cheap shot from the apron, leading to Shibata get the boots put to him on the outside heading to commercial.
Shibata was worked over the entire break until finally he was able to plant Kaun with a leg sweep slam before making a hot tag to Hobbs. Meat chants ring out as Hobbs & Liona tag in and slug it out trading corner clotheslines. Finally, Hobbs was able to get the better of Liona, as Joe makes the tag and lights up Ricochet with a snap powerslam and running senton for two. Muscle Buster broke up by Liona, as Kaun flew in with a shotgun dropkick and Liona with a Pounce. Hobbs suffered the same fate, but Kaun ran right into a STO. Springboard dropkick and running Shooting Star by Ricochet on Joe, but Shibata broke up the cover. Shibata sank in a Rear Naked Choke on Liona, who rolled to the apron, as Ricochet went up top, but was cracked by MVP and his cane. Hobbs hit a Spinebuster, Shibata with the PK, as Joe sank in the Coquina Clutch for the submission.
Post-match, The Opps left with the titles, as G.O.A. held up Ricochet, but dropped him as The Hurt Syndicate’s music hit. The brawl was on with Liona, Kaun, Lashley & Benjamin, as they brawled to the back, leaving Ricochet to recover alone in the ring.
Winners: The Opps (retains championships)
Falls Count Anywhere Match
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Darby Allin
(Wild weapons filled brawl to end the first night of AEW’s residency at the 2300 Arena. It’s exactly what you would’ve hoped for in a match like this, as this was Allin’s first match back on TV since he was booted down the flight of stairs last year by Death Riders. Allin was able to get some sort of revenge besting Castagnoli, but he’s going to have to obviously get through Gabe Kidd if he wants to make it to Moxley. The crowd at the end of the show were really hoping for a huge return from Eddie Kingston, chanting his name in hopes he’d help Allin from the beating, but it was not meant to be, at least not tonight. The crowd clearly misses Kingston, myself included.)
As Castagnoli was walking backstage to make his entrance, Allin leapt off a loading trailer to attack immediately. Castagnoli quickly threw him into a shopping cart and crashed him into a bunch of set-up chairs before grabbing a flat screen TV and slamming Allin through it. Bringing him out onto the entrance area, Castagnoli delivered a Giant Swing into the barricade for two. Allin responded by flying through the ropes with a dive before scaling one of the giant beams and hitting a Coffin Drop off it. In the ring now, Allin charged, but Castagnoli hit a massive pop-up uppercut for two. Castagnoli demands the commentary crew clear out, as similarly to what he did at Forbidden Door, he pressed Allin over his head, charged and darted him from the ring through the announce table as things went to break. Had Castagnoli done this to any other side of the arena, it would’ve been a Bam Bam Bigelow/Spike Dudley flashback.
During commercial, Castagnoli threw a bunch of chairs in the ring, while setting tables up in the corners, as Allin desperately tried fighting back, only to keep getting squashed. Back in the ring, Castagnoli had his leg kicked out, as Allin sank in a Guillotine. Castagnoli powered up, but Allin transitioned into a Rear Naked Choke. Castagnoli threw his way free, charged, but Allin side-stepped and Castagnoli crashed through a table. Allin wore out Castagnoli with a chair, placing it around his neck, going up top, but was cut off. Castagnoli stacked the chairs and delivered an Avalanche Gut Wrench onto the pile for two. A furious Castagnoli bealed Allin onto the table, which didn’t break, but a powerbomb did, only again, Allin kicked out.
Castagnoli exposed the corner turnbuckle, wanted a slingshot, but Allin landed on his feet in the ropes and delivered a bounce back double stomp. Victory roll got a near fall, as Castagnoli charged, Allin with a drop toe hold into the exposed buckle and Code Red for another two. Allin quickly up top for a Coffin Drop, then one more for good measure for the win.
Post-match, Gabe Kidd hit the ring and planted Allin with an overhead suplex, as Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir joined, calling the shots. Kidd picked up Allin, who shot a double leg on Moxley, got in a few shots, but Kidd pulled him away. Allin sent Kidd & Moxley colliding into one another before bailing and avoiding any more of a beating. Kidd went after Allin and fought through the crowd. Moxley ultimately just left with Shafir, as Kidd was with them furious to end the show.
Winner: Darby Allin
End of show.
