The Great Kasaki, a longtime fixture of the British Columbia independent wrestling scene, has died. He was 47.

The Bollywood Boyz, the Vancouver-area tag team of Gurv and Harv Sihra, confirmed the news in a tribute posted Wednesday, recalling that they shared the ring with Kasaki early in their careers nearly two decades ago. Tributes from across the BC wrestling community followed.

Kasaki built his reputation as one of the most distinctive characters on the West Coast indie circuit, blending comedy, hard-hitting in-ring work, and a face-painted, larger-than-life presence. He was a regular for promotions including All Star Wrestling, where co-owner Disco Fury (Nathan Burke) praised him as a hard worker who could carry a match with anyone and make his opponents look better than they were.

In their tribute, the Bollywood Boyz urged anyone struggling to reach out for help, noting that mental health is a real concern in the wrestling business and beyond.
