Ronda Rousey is teasing a return to compete at Most Valuable Promotions’ MMA 2 event.

UFC legend and former WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey made a one-off return to MMA competition at MVP’s MMA 1 event on May 16, 2026. She took on Gina Carano at the event and defeated her via an armbar submission in 17 seconds in the first round. She then announced her retirement from MMA after the fight.

During an interview with Fight Culture, Ronda Rousey addressed the possibility of her competing at the MVP MMA 2 event. While she left the door open for a return, Rousey hoped the Jake Paul-owned company would continue to put on big events in the future with or without her. She also noted that UFC legend Nate Diaz should be involved in the event.

“We’ll see. We need to reconvene and see what the future looks like at this point. I think everyone is just decompressing and getting back to post that huge of an event fight life. What I hope they do in the future, whether with me or not, is that they continue to make their fights a huge event. Every single one a huge event because that’s what’s missing in MMA,” Ronda Rousey said.

“It’s just becoming, on every weekend, background noise, and it needs to be an event. So, anything that they do next, whether I’m involved or not, I hope that it’s something huge, and for something to be huge of that caliber again. I think Nate also needs to be involved again. I think he needs to be a mainstay,” Rousey concluded.
