Default TNA CT. Show Cancelled, Fans Upset, Police Arrive

    source: tnawrestlingnews.com

Tonight's TNA show in Connecticut has been cancelled after building inspectors showed up and refused to allow the show to take place. Several police cars were also dispatched to the show. Fans outside the building are chanting "F*** Vince McMahon".

TNA is filming fan reaction outside the building.

This follows the move yesterday from the original building after a similar problem with building inspectors.

It's not clear who made the phone calls to building inspectors, but one of the police officers told one of the TNA officials on site, "You know you have a competitor up here who isn't making your life easy".

Tonight's show was scheduled to be the first show run by TNA in Connecticut.

WWE is based in Stamford CT

Maybe if they could actually get people to pay to see their shows and stop losing so much money, then they would be able to book arenas that can pass building inspections.

i find this funny because TNA is tryin to be like WWE and travel all over the place even though TNA doesnt have the money to do so. Pretty soon TNA will try and do shows over seas, tna should just stick to staying at orlando

It's obviously not going to be easy but if TNA wants to succeed then they will have to tour. If they stay in Orlando, then they are going to go bankrupt. They are losing 2-4 million dollars every month in Orlando and have to give away tickets just to fill up their little stage. These aren't the old territorial days anymore. Vince has shown that there is a market for pro wrestling in every corner of the world and that the ones who go after that market, rather than just staying where they are comfortable, are the ones that will succeed and survive.

From what I read of Hermie Sadler's message...they do not know if the WWE was behind it or not. They have no concrete evidence stating they were. The WWE has also stated they had nothing to do with it. Yet it does seem odd that two shows were cancelled in two different buildings...but for similar reasons...and both stemming from an unnkown caller to the authorities.

As for TNA hitting the road...although this was a UWF sponsored event they do have to travel to bring in more of the fan base. Whether or not it's financially a good move at this point...who knows. But it beats sitting on their butts and not attempting anything,

WWE didnt have anything to do with either building being closed. I'm sure that Vince Mcmahon was not sitting in his office thinking about ways to shut down a 1000 fan indy event. Its a good business move for TNA to try and fuel the fires of conspiracy theorists. After all, like Eric says over and over and over, Controversy crates Cash. I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was someone in TNA that called inspectors. Although I am probably giving them too much credit. The bottom line is that the shows were closed because they were booked in crappy arenas that couldn't pass inspection.

I never said the WWE was involved. And yet it remains odd that the second building they booked had been used the week prior...with no problems.

As for someone within TNA making the call...come on man...stay out of the fever swamp. No one knows who did it at this point...and they may never find out. Bottom line is...those who want TNA to succeed will stick to their guns...and those who don't will continue to malign the product as often as they can. But hey...it's a free country...so to each his own.

That was a general reply. If I reply to you then I will either use quote tags or the "^" sign.

No, the ones who want TNA to succeed will demand better. You don't support a company by accepting whatever crap they feed you. I come on boards like this one and I promote the company and I try to get people talking about it and replying to threads. I try to get every fan I know to give TNA a chance, but I'm not going to pretend like everything is perfect in Florida. The bottom line is that they are losing tons of cash and they are going to die very soon at the rate they are going now. If you want to sit there and pretend like everything is fine and they don't need drastic changes, then that is your prerogative as a consumer, but when they die its on people like you.
