April 1, 2007: this date will go down as the end of what was once a great business. But now, through senility or stupidity, the WWE has become a joke that should be erased from this planet.

You have the prime example were a "clusterf**k" of a match in the MITB is going to be considered a good match. You had a nightmare in Khali/Kane, a dead crowd for MVP/Benoit (which of course had real wrestling in it), a decent brawl in Batista/Undertaker, a bathroom break diva match, a mindless/pointless sketch in the hair v hair, and of course, one of HBK's worse matches in recent memory ended with a slap in the face to true wrestling fans. HBK tapping to that worthless prick Cena.

We have now had men such as HHH, Benoit, and HBK not only lose to Cena, but tap, a feat once only accomplished by men like Angle, Bret Hart, and Chris Benoit. But then again, McMahon must force feed us this bullsh*t because who cares about wrestling anymore? As evidenced by the audience of recent times, as long as you have a hard body and can spit a few catchphrases they fall all over you.

I can't wait to see how many people come to say that WM23 was remotely good, let alone great.

I figured that was what this thread was going to be about. Anyhow, I think you more or less said what needed to be said... There were good moments, but the bad outshined the good. Usually when I watch Wrestlemanias, I'm cheering on my feet, screaming at the television. The only match I did that in was the final match to no avail. So, yeah, that's it...

I thought the Undertaker/Batista match was pretty good for two strikers. It was tense throughout the match and the fall finishes were brilliant. But after the second Main Event it is hard to remember that there was actually a decent match on in the past ten years, let alone earlier in the show.

Undertaker Vs Batista was awesome though. Undertaker is always good but I thought he would be brought down by Batista's crap wrestling. It was a good match. I was angry that they put the Undertaker match in the middle and left the womens cuddle to the near end. That was crap and disrespectful. Cena was always going to win. If you listened to HBK he said he was going to take Cena to the top of the mountain. I was surprised that Cena won but you get that.

While I can see where your coming from, if you dont like WWE, watch something else. There were many good things about Wrestlemania 23. Undertaker got Batista to work; Although it was obvious before the match, Kennedy won the MITB (I think it could have been far better); HBK put on his usual good match... Cena is a good guy to watch, I just expected HBK to win again. But then again, if Flair can get relegated to the pre-show then anything can happen.

I agree that there were a lot of things I was disappointed in (Khali Vs Kane sucked, the womens thing was rubbish) but I prefer to focus on the good things. Sorry that you didnt like Wrestlemania. I thought it was good, some parts were great but due the couple of crappy matches, it was an average effort overall. But Undertaker is 15-0. If he had lost, I would have been angry.

If you had caught me before last year's WM, you would have found a fan finding the brighter side to every show. But I have grown tired of having wrestlers stuffed my throat that should never have touched champioship gold, let alone defend it at the biggest event of the year.

If Cena had won with the FU, or a dq, or even a damn countout it would have been so much better than the bullsh*t that was the STFU and HBK tapping. But I am not alone in this, the entire Ford Feild audience was not only deflated, but looked as if they had just thrown up. Too bad Mr. Kennedy didn't come to the ring with the MITB. He would have been bigger than Hogan when he won.

All I have left to wonder is... who else is going to tap to the joke that is the WWE champion? They going to bring in Austin, Rock, and Hogan and have them all tap to Cene in the same night? And I thought Arquette winning the WCW title was bad, but this is so much worse (at least his reign was written as a fluke).

The TNA Mark has nothing good to say about the show when his Abomination of TV shows can't even cram 5 minutes of actual decent wrestling without Sonjay "Scarface" Dutt and "Black Machismo" running TNA oh wait.........TNA needs to give Sting a couple more million before their product goes to waste. The WWE put on a great show tonight. The only thing that I had a problem with was the Kane/Khali match as it was only needed for somebody being able to slam Khali's as its only purpose and the Lumber"Juggs" match as the only bright spot was that an actual womens wrestler not named Victoria or Mickie James on the WWE roster in Melina was able to keep the Womens Title. Benoit won tonight after MVP put on a great show, The MITB set WM off to a great start and the Batista/Taker match surprised me to how great it was. Magic happens when you motivate somebody. I'm saying that WrestleMania was Great and I can't wait to own it on DVD. For all the negatives you wana say about the WWE I will proudly defend it because of the show they put on tonight. John Cena deserved that victory after another great ppv match. Michaels helped Cena reach the next plateau in his career and with kennedy winning the MITB this sets up another Kennedy/Taker match only this time with the stakes for the World Heavyweight Title. Or he could challenge John Cena which would make things verrrrrrry interesting. My Surprise of the night was definitley the Originals defeating the New Breed.

Actually, I am not a full TNA mark. I enjoy the fact that actual talent holds the NWA belt, but I really haven't watched the show in a months or two aside from five minutes here and five minutes there. But I can understand a smaller much younger inexperienced company struggling. I do not understand a juggernaut not only stumbling, but tripping over the edge of a cliff and smashing face first into the ground.

And if by a new plateu (or new heights) for Cena, you mean even more ridiculous bull and pathetic one liners, then you are right. But if you mean true talent and deserved prestige, you must have kissed a little too hard and pushed your head straight up McMahon's a**. This guy makes men like HBK, HHH, and Benoit tap. There are wrestling legends that couldn't do that in their prime (Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, Sting, Chris Jericho...)

I would love for the WWE to return to glory, but since McMahon insists on pushing wrestling under the rug in favour of high risk matches where people recover more from the moves they do than actually participate in the match (WM 23 MITB), divas, and rather unwitty catchphrases I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

The fact that Cena busts his ass night in and night out to give the fans their money's worth you sure as hell certaintly wouldn't see it in Sting in his performance. Hell as long as he's getting paid he doesnt give a crap about the business and that's putting it lightly. By giving the rub to John Cena, the WWE is allowing the push of John Cena as an entity that you certaintly wouldnt see in any of the WWE's garbage like Kurt Angle or Scott Steiner. Lets see Kurt Angle isn't what he used to be. Hell, the man's gone completely crazy the way he acts backstage and thinks about himself. Sting only cares about the Money which is why he's draining all of TNA's production value when TNA could use the Money to make a much better product rather than pay people like the Dudley'z, New Age Outlaws, Sting and any other former WWE Garbage like Rhino trying to live out a legacy that died a long time ago. Except for Christian, He's actually one of the few shineing stars of that company has to offer. The WWE tonight put on a great show that was filled with great spots and helped the product grow into the future. Batista really surprised me in pulling out a strong match with the Undertaker which just makes the Undertaker more of a Legend in the respect that he can have a match with anybody and make the match decent based on his performance.

I do not care how hard a guy works in the ring. Eugene would work his ass off in the ring, but I still could not like him. Rey Mysterio is a spectacular worker but is not championship material. Cena, who may work hard, just isn't a champion at that level. It was apparent tonight when he struggled in the wrestling portions of the match. It wasn't until the match became a brawl that Cena and HBk started to click on the same page. Look at what MVP and Benoit did. It was exactly what HBK was trying to do, but Cena just could not cope.

By the way, I wish the crowd had gotten into that Benoit/MVP match. It was technically sound and perfectly timed. The silent crowd just killed it though. Were they just waiting to do the whole "Yay/Boo" schtick in the two Championsip matches?
