    Default WWE MVP of 2007

Who do you think is the WWE MVP of 2007 and Why?

I think it is MVP because of his growth in the ring and on the mic, his battle with Matt Hardy and his overall personality becoming a main event player.

I disagree about it being MVP. It's hard to say who overall was the number one, so let me start by giving the MVP for each brand, IMO.

RAW: While Cena did carry the show for the majority of the year, his injury kinda takes him out of the running. I'm gonna have to go out on a limb and say Jeff Hardy. MVP should be the person who gave his strongest effort over and over again, and the only person who I saw do that (with the exception of the 30 day suspension) was Jeff. From his Money in the Bank fued up to wrestlemania to the Hardy's renion, moving on to several IC title runs, and finishing up the year finally becoming number one contender to the WWE Championship. Through all that he kept a huge fan base too. I'd give it to Jeff hands down.

Smackdown: While many of you say MVP, I don't think so. Eel, I'm surprised that you said MVP, because I saw you say in another thread how you didn't even watch it while Edge was injured, until his return. If MVP was so great, you would have been watching regardless. I have to give it to Edge this time around. He stepped up when he was needed and jumped head first into being the number one on a new show. He carried Smackdown up until his injury, and then, upon his return, jumped right back into the number one spot, making the show all the more entertaining with his actions. I never had a desire to watch Smackdown until reading all of the things he has pulled while he had the lead, and that is the only reason that I will occasionally watch the show now.

ECW: CM Punk, hands down. He has been there almost since the begining of the rebirth of ECW. Unlike Big Show, RVD, and Bobby Lashley, he has stayed on ECW, building it up and making it watchable. When they gave the reigns of the show to Morrison, he continued to help make it great, and when Morrison got suspended he took over and has carried the show since then. They may not give him the best rolls, but he has been a good champion in his first ever title run in the WWE.

So there are my picks for MVP of the shows: Jeff Hardy, Edge, and CM Punk. Overall, I think I'd have to give it to Jeff. While he hasn't carried raw, he has constantly improved his game, while Punk seems to have taken a backseat on ECW lately and Edge hasn't been on Smackdown for most of the year.

^ Yeah, I didn't watch it. But when Edge was there, I saw how MVP was and he was great. I thought MVP of 2007 would have been better suited in the hands of an upcoming star and not one like Edge.(I would have given it to Edge first if I knew that)

Ah..I see. If it's upcoming stars, I'd give it to CM Punk, since Hardy and Edge are already established. If its overall most valuable of the year, I say Hardy.

MVP had a great year but he's not the MVP of 2007 IMO. The wrestler that is MVP of 2007 is John Cena. He would most likely still be champion right now if he didn't get injured. He had the title for pretty much the entire year. Plus he does every thing the WWE ask him to do. So that pretty much makes him the MVP IMO.

    RIP JC
