Reason For No Mercy Main-Event Change
According to at least one backstage source, the reason that WWE officials made the decision to make a last minute change to the No Mercy main event was because no one bought that Lashley would be able to draw by himself. WWE feels that Batista is their biggest draw on SmackDown and the thinking is that by adding him to the main event it will help the event’s buyrate. It should be noted that it was originally planned for Batista to take one King Booker to headline No Mercy, until it was changed to King Booker vs. Lashley. Now the main event for Sunday’s PPV is Finlay vs. Batista vs. Lashley vs. King Booker in a Fatal Four-Way match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

i really don't know how it has taken them to the week of no mercy to realise he couldn't draw on his own. he should not have been in the main event in the first place as he is nowhere near ready
